17-years-old Jainil Chokshi is a musician and vocalist from Jupiter, Florida. After performing at neighbourhood gatherings and coffee shops, Chokshi determined that he desired to do more. He began composing his own music at age 15.

“Gyre” is the title of Jainil Chokshi’s latest EP. This project follows the release of three singles and the success of his first EP, “The Walk!” Across all platforms, the EP has amassed over 7,500 streams to date.

The entirety of the EP was created in Jainil Chokshi’s bedroom in the middle of 2021, where he also wrote the music and recorded it with the help of an old electric piano and guitar. Every track on the EP presents to the listener an aspect of Chokshi’s musical prowess, be it vocals, strings, or keys.

The EP’s title, “Gyre,” alludes to the EP’s emotional arc, which begins with the upbeat “The Patio,” about friends hanging out and being carefree, and ends with the more ominous “Down the Road,” about a teenager working late into the night and questioning whether or not it’s worth it for his future career. The EP has four songs, the first of which is an instrumental opener that sets the EP’s overall mood of gloom and darkness

The varied genres and the very concept of music provide the only relief on this otherwise apprehensive and haunted record. Gyre’s “Down The Road” is the EP’s most emphatic track, a heartfelt ballad that uses melody, swing, and introspection to speak to the efficacy of melody and sincerity. Rather than being loud and bombastic, this song is melancholy, with piano, raw vocals, and serenades that harken back to simpler times (reminiscent of acts such as 70s Elton John and Rod Stewart).

But on “A Spiraling Motion,” Jaimil abandons the syllable-stuffing melancholy of “The Patio” for a smoother, bluesier, more pulsating sound. It’s a testament to his talent and versatility as an artist, swiftly moving from one genre to the next.

It’s indicative of his skill and adaptability as an artist that he can switch gears so effortlessly between different styles. The light of his genuine creative ability is beginning to shine as his career progresses. Jainil is starting to branch out, listening to music from other genres and incorporating elements from them into his own style. His new EP, “Gyre,” showcases this artistic blossoming and Chokshi’s singular character.

“Someday” by the Santa Cruz-based artist Far West is helping us power through the sweltering hot weather. With its twinkling guitar touches, fuzzy synth taste, and reverberated vocals, this song seems tailor-made for hazy summer days by the beach or on a nighttime walk in the park. Regarding the song, Far West states that lyrically, the song is about having the courage to let the past go and not letting it drag you down.

This song adheres closely to the spirit of endearment and candour that came to define the bedroom pop genre.

Featuring saccharine, detached love themes accompanied by wobbly guitar licks, as if the artist himself were in a trance while performing them, a guitar-pop daydream as swaying and inviting as a garden swing encapsulates much of the charm of his music. This enticing aloofness is one of the distinctive characteristics of Far West.

The track is frequently beautiful and occasionally aggravating; it sounds as if it was recorded swiftly, but was clearly laboured over. The single evolves in millimetres: it iterates on the same sound while gently modifying it with each verse. The lyrics grow more explicit with every verse and the themes become evident.

Steve Yanek is a singer-songwriter based in Pennsylvania. Before moving to the tranquility of the Pennsylvania countryside, he enjoyed a successful career as a singer-songwriter in Los Angeles. His life has been nothing short of exciting up to this point. In addition to his work as an artist manager, he also founded a tiny independent record company. With the release of his new album “Long Overdue” which is set to release on the 5th of August., he is now ready for a brand-new chapter in his life.

On this album, Yanek presents ten original songs in which he embraces life’s difficulties as they come, investigates the complexities of interpersonal relationships, and, throughout, finds inner peace and a sense of purpose. Before the pandemic, Yanek had written and recorded all of his new songs, having begun the process sometime after the 2005 release of his album “Across the Landscape.” There was an almost two-decade hiatus between solo albums. Jeff Pevar, who performs on acoustic, electric, resonator, lap steel, bass, and backing vocals, is one of the album’s key contributors. Kenny Aronoff contributed percussion to four tracks. On three tracks, Rod Morgenstein and T Lavitz play drums and keyboards, while Billy Payne of Little Feat plays piano. Three tracks feature bass playing by Dave Livolsi and background singing by Larry Kennedy, a former Jellybricks lead vocalist that Steve used to promote through his record label.

To me, it seemed that this album could not have been made unless you had that much life under your belt. It may be playful at times but it’s also profound. The album is mostly made up of heartfelt singer-songwriter and folk songs, with a dash of country sprinkled in for added fun. There are hints that classic rock-influenced the album as well; nonetheless, the spontaneous guitar draws you into a familiar and comfy terrain with its catchy rhythms as well as the album’s sentimental lyrics.

The album’s title track, “Long Overdue,” is a classic romantic country ballad, a love letter from one person to their partner. It establishes the mood for the rest of the album. However, Yanek’s thematic catalogue is vast, and songs like “Goodbye,” which deal with the heartbreak of losing a loved one and coming to terms with the inevitable, are just the tip of the iceberg. It’s one of my favorites and serves as a nice counterpoint to the album’s title tune. Yanek’s soulful vocals shine through in “You Move Me,” which is further emphasized by its mellow pace. So much richness and power were added by including backing vocals in this arrangement. “All The Sorrow” sounds like the aural equivalent of a gathering over a crackling campfire. The combination of the traditional guitar chords and the piano evokes images of chilly days and autumn leaves.

All I have to say about this album is that it’s a masterpiece, and I feel privileged to have been entrusted with reviewing it.

To kick off 2022, Juniper Avenue has released “Bumfuzzle,” their first single of the year. If you’d like to get a better understanding of the song, as well as a little information on the performers, keep reading!

Juniper Avenue is a North Carolina-based band that has blown our minds with the release of “Bumfuzzle,” which features Jeremy Adinolfi (Drums), Luke Baker (Guitar, Vocals), Cody Everest (Bass), and Graham Levy (Lead Guitar). We may immediately consider this three-minute rocker an instant classic because it draws on so many different genres and styles of music, including psychedelic, garage, and classic rock.

This is an excellent, honest, and well-rounded track from the band’s upcoming album, “Chuck Rock.” The musicianship on display at Juniper Avenue is far beyond their years as young adults. Stepping things up a notch, the groove kicks in right away and keeps the record’s fast paced momentum. The strength of the guitars is also an enjoyable element.

The band writes songs that weave together the abstract emotions of young life with the vivid fantasy of young romance. Despite the genre’s age, alternative rock acts like Juniper Avenue illustrate that the genre’s sound is still vibrant and dynamic.

There is more to the band than alternative rock. Quite the contrary, this track exhibits explorations into punk rock, rock ’n’roll, and power pop. It’s possible that some listeners will find Juniper Avenue’s eclectic style a bit overwhelming; however, the stylistic choices reflected in the track give the band a unique and original sound. They infused Bumfuzzle with a smattering of their favourite elements from several genres. This is something you’ll notice as soon as you listen to the song. A radio-edited version of the song is also included, and you can listen to both tracks on your favourite streaming platforms.

The 15th of July saw the release of ‘Wild and Free’ by Roisin O’Hagan, the third single from her forthcoming EP, which she composed and produced in the UK.

Roisin, a finalist in the Fender Undiscovered Artist competition with the assistance of Matt Malley (Counting Crows), Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters), and Pete Murray, has had an impressive start. For instance, she has been included on prominent Spotify playlists and BBC Music Introducing radio broadcasts in the United Kingdom.

Roisin adds her inventiveness to the song’s theme, giving an energizing and completely fascinating piece about the uncertain times at the start of a new relationship. When you first hear the song, you can almost picture Roisin singing it while driving along a country road on a summer day. When Roisin wrote this song, she was trying to describe the fears and worries that come with a new love.

Influenced by artists such as Counting Crows, Taylor Swift, and Bruce Springsteen, the track’s melody sparkles with jangling guitars, captivating lyrics, and energetic drumming. O’Hagan resists modern embellishments and frills, remaining loyal to her own distinctive style and relying solely on her natural voice and unedited instruments.

This song is not an exception to her propensity to blur genre lines. The contrast between O’Hagan’s lovely, delicate voice and the music’s blend of pop, folk, country, and rock is striking yet complimentary. The country/rock guitar chords and catchy chorus of this song reveal that despite her delicate voice, she is capable of producing a more robust sound. Roisin’s songs are not only clever and catchy, but they also express an important message. She has no problem expressing her opinion and drawing on her own experiences.

“All I Want to Say” is an 8-minute metal-progressive rock crossover ballad featuring Tom Englund. The second single from Sweden-based band We Are To Blame.

The song effortlessly blends the old with the new. It’s hard to describe We Are To Blame as anything other than raw and uncompromising. The track features ominous, haunting qualities to its ambiance through the clever use of instrumentation combined with the vocals.

Somber and foreboding, the track is evocative of the pop metal sound of the late 1990s. Despite the fact that the song evokes a lot of that vintage vibe, it still retains a timeless quality. The band created a single with a high potential of accessibility, a song that appeals equally to angsty nu-metal boys and stoic Gen Z girls. The combination of hard rock guitars and sentimental lyrics is an excellent introduction into the world of metal.

The vocals are surrounded by a slew of rhythmic guitar riffs and percussive effects throughout the song. It serves as a modern interpretation of traditional heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden, Queensryche, and Type O Negative, with a major emphasis on bombast and melodic experimentation.

“Let’s Straighten It Out!”, the title track from The Sully Band’s debut album, released on March 11. Chris Goldsmith (Charlie Musselwhite, Ben Harper, Big Head Todd) worked on the production for the track along with James East, a Grammy Award-winning bassist. Let’s Straighten It Out! was mostly recorded live over the course of five days at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles.

Bob “Sully” Sullivan and his jazzy band are now performing to exuberant crowds at regional and national events, having won “Best Live Band” at the 2020 San Diego Music Awards. Without a doubt, this vocalist and band can perform classics such as Billy Preston’s “Nothing From Nothing,” Jackie Wilson’s “Higher and Higher,” Ray Charles’ “Hallelujah, I Love Her So,” and Dr. John and Jessie Hill’s “When The Battle Is Over.” With their inventive use of horns, guitars, piano, and percussion, musicians such as The Sully Band are reinterpreting the R & B/Soul/Blues sound.

The band’s rendition of the lesser-known song “Let’s Straighten It Out” is new and modern while retaining a somber undertone. The band handles this classic with great care . As much as it pays tribute to the past, it’s very much a modern tune. It would be an understatement to refer to them as a “cover band,” since their interpretations are original and invigorating. Sully’s seductive voice is smooth and controlled, only stopping when necessary. This album will expose new generations of music lovers to some of the most well-known Soul classics.

Sully’s vocals have a firm clarity, but they also have a gritty, soulful quality that captures the intensity and passion at the core of Soul music. James East’s powerful bass provides the band with a solid foundation. Tipp Sprague, who plays saxophone, flute, and harp, and Steve Dillard, who plays trumpet and flugelhorn, make up the blazing horn section.

In addition to his ventures into the world of Soul and Blues, Sully Band singer Robert “Sully” Sullivan, is the presenter of the nationally syndicated Big Biz Show and On The Air San Diego, as well as founder/owner of The Sully Entertainment Group and Loft100 Studios, and has been named Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s San Diego & Hawaii Region’s Man of the Year.

MOTE, an American singer, songwriter, and musician, comes back with another timeless track after releasing a string of singles in 2022. The song “Industrial Love” is the first single he has put out this year, and it is the sixth consecutive entry in a series of tracks that he began releasing in the year 2020.

Although MOTE was born in Nashville, Tennessee, his musical style is far more reminiscent of the synthwave, new wave, and other forms that were popular in Europe in the 80s. Nevertheless, that is not the only thing that “Industrial Love” is about. The modern music influences in the composition make for a catchy song that moves through so many different genres of music.

It’s easy to notice the way the synthesised melodies and riffs work in harmony together, and how the beats keep a steady pace throughout the track. The sound is practically straightforward in the verse, but in the chorus, there are many unique melodies, tonal subtleties, and basslines all working together in sync despite the fact that the tempo does not change.

MOTE gave the song a synth rock sound that is striking and full of energy. The energy and synthesised atmosphere of the song draw the listener in right away and give the music a good balance.

The track has a way of getting under your skin, making you hope for a brighter tomorrow and prompting you to reflect on happier times. If contemporary synth-pop music with a touch of tonal escapism is your thing, then this song is the perfect choice.

‘Diamond,’ the new single and video from Toronto shoegaze/indie rock duo Soft Set, is available now on all digital streaming platforms.

Soft Set’s sophomore single, ‘Diamond,’ follows up on last year’s “More More More.” Later this summer will see the release of the band’s new album, “Still Life.” Mastered at SPS by Slowdive’s Simon Scott.

As a prelude to Still Life, the band’s forthcoming debut studio album, the lush and sweeping ‘Diamond’ ties in beautifully with the previously shared ‘More More More’. Taking a more open-minded approach to shoegaze, their newly released single explores a gloomy and melancholic mood with a bevy of sonic textures.

A true crime podcast served as inspiration for this moody and ominous track. Band member James Gray talked about the strange story of a boy who killed his mother and then himself in Jefferson Township, NJ, during the late 1980s. “The whole story was just so bizarre,” Gray said. All of that changed in the months building up to the awful night when everything changed for him.

It was in high school that the duo first It didn’t take long for them to learn how much they had in common when they first became friends, particularly in terms of musical preferences. Their sound is influenced by the work of famous artists such as The Smiths, My Bloody Valentine, RIDE, The Stone Roses, etc.

From dream pop to ’90s shoegaze and everything in between. The sound of British pop is hidden behind a foggy backdrop. Every one of those initial musical inspirations plays a significant role in this track, which builds a mesmerising mystique as it progresses. The twangy charm of a reverberating guitar rhythm is gradually revealed. In addition to the swooning vocals and guitar-laden pulses, there is an extra element of enticement. The song comes to a satisfying end with a lingering guitar riff that sounds like it could be from another dimension. Intoxicating melodic progressions and anesthetic vocals make this song irresistible.

Kieron Michael Heavens, who is based in London, has just released his new song, titled “Wembley,” which is the first track off his next EP, titled “Foundations,” that is scheduled for release in September 2022. Kieron stated that he is “eager to promote music with good messages in it, especially if dealing with issues of hardship, mental health, and self-realization” when he uploaded the music video for the song’s lyrics.

It’s taken Kieron years to walk into the spotlight and reveal his true self as an artist, but he’s finally done it, and he’s having the time of his life doing it. His only means of self-expression was the guitar, which he resorted to as a release valve for the feelings he couldn’t express any other way. Even now, Kieron’s music is a form of therapy, a way to connect with other people, and, most importantly, a way to communicate his feelings.

Every musician’s goal is to play at “Wembley,” the United Kingdom’s equivalent of Madison Square Garden. To play there is equivalent to having achieved mainstream success (at least if you live in any part of the Anglosphere outside the United States). Kieron, on the other hand, has alternative views; in his song, he asserts his lack of need for such conventional indicators of “success” and that he can find happiness and fulfillment on his own. He encourages the listener to find the strength to become the best version of themselves they can be and to refuse to allow other people to decide that for them. It is an empowering song with a beautiful and inspiring theme that complements the arrangement beautifully.
