The band released their debut single: “Comatose” in 2021 followed by an EP in 2022 and still going strong. Although they’ve been on the scene for two years, they managed to create an enormous buzz and capture the listener’s attention across the US. They have over 5K subscribers on YouTube, almost 300K followers on TikTok, and about 19K monthly listeners on Spotify. The band leader and founder: “Gabi Rose” gives the band a unique vibe with her remarkable vocals and impeccable saxophone performances. She posts short videos/reels playing guitar riffs on saxophone and song covers on different social platforms. 

Enrose just released their latest single: “Me & You,” the song is a fusion of Jazz, a hint of R&B, a dash of rock, and an overall pop mood. The song comes in strong with a dramatic, exotic feel that reminded me of Amy Winehouse’s intros. Followed by the bass taking over with a cool riff that sustains later in the background. Gabi Rose starts with her lush and powerful vocals, then switches to her sax solos, which leaves you high on emotions. The music is so rich and layered, with a lot going on in the background, that you can’t hear it all from the first time. “Me & You” is appealing to the listeners who grew up appreciating jazz and blues, and to the younger, hip crowd who enjoys an upbeat song with pop elements. The alternative rock four-piece band got together in 2021 by Chris Schwarten on guitars and Nicolas Zappa on bass, who have been playing together since 2018. Later, they were joined by Bri Macanas, the vocalist, and they instantly clicked, and finally, Joe Eiffes on drums. Although each of them comes from a different background with remarkable experience and undoubtful talent, they spent two years getting acquainted with one another, playing around with songs and lyrics till they perfected their sound, resulting in an original style, sick tunes, and powerful lyrics. The band’s style is influenced by the likes of Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Queens of the Stone Age, Deafheaven, and others, but with their own take and angle. 

“Scorpio” is about dark desires, deep emotional conflicts, and addictive behaviors, something that all of us can relate to in our way. Although we might know how pursuing these desires or behaviors could be destructive, or as described in the song “It’ll be the Death of Me,” we still can’t stop. These deep lyrics are accompanied by powerfully controlled vocals, a dynamic drumline, and a subtle bass line. The guitar riffs are heavy, loud, and vibrant, bringing the sound to life. The song has interesting cadences and an overall sick ambiance. “Scorpio” along with “Into Dust,” their latest release, were recorded at Small Pond, Brighton by engineer Josh Riordan, assisted by Liisa Kiis, Bri Macanas, and Nicolas Zappa (who also mixed both songs.) The mastering by Mark Roberts and the remarkable artwork by Chris Schwarten.

After performing about 250 shows, they decided to release their debut studio single “Light of the Moon.” The six-minute track opens with a fast-paced and significant guitar riff, which aligns with the uplifting and cheerful lyrics; about living life to the fullest and seeing the beauty of it all.

The song is full of grit, rich rhythmic lines, and textured sounds. The music is so vibrant that you could visualize it, and see it come to life!!! It’s heavy on improvisations, guitar licks, and fun jamming moments.

The song is accompanied by a music video directed by Edwin Escobar and produced by Maria Schwerdtle, who did a wonderful job in capturing the band’s overall vibe and the song’s essence which is so fun, random, and spontaneous but also dense. The song starts with a sequence of piano chords, which remains the main accompanying instrument throughout the song. It is a beautiful conversation between the artist and herself, it portrays an inner struggle that I’m positive each one of us goes through in our own way. She starts by expressing some of the struggles she’s going through, how society’s perception could be overwhelming at times, and how it could be hard to express one’s frustrations. In her opening verse, she says: “Tell me what’s like, to be someone you like, to hold it all together even when it don’t seem right” I think someday I might; it’s always such a fight… Inside my mind.”

Then in her chorus, she reassures herself that it’ll all be ok, that everything will happen, but it takes time, no need to rush. She simply says: Be Patient! 

In the 2nd verse, sound effects and a drumline are added, giving the song a different color and vibe, to pave the way for Corbin Bronson’s subtle and deep vocals to come in and express his frustrations, concerns, and inner thoughts. Together, they intertwine in the chorus with the same reassuring message, that they’re trying their best, encouraging themselves to push further, yet always to remember to take it slow and be patient with themselves.

Bill Jordan has dedicated fans of over 2K monthly listeners on Spotify. He released his debut album “Stranded” in 2020, where the first song “She Paints the Colors” reached over 22K streams. On the other hand, Kurt Wubbenhorst is a founding member of the alt-rock band OHT (One Hundred Thousand), who released their debut album “The Forms in Which They appear” in 2016, causing a huge buzz. 

The song grabs your attention from the first few seconds as it starts with a striking intro, sliding vocal notes, and a powerful electric guitar tune. It has an overall energetic vibe with a significant vocal line that easily gets caught in your head. You won’t be able to unlock all instrumental lines from the first time, given the layers of sound between guitar riffs repeating in the background, the loud drumline, the chords lingering, and the rich melody. It’s an overall exciting experience you surely don’t want to miss.

 In only a few months, the artist was able to grab the attention of the audience with his first single, “LEHMAN WEEKEND” which received over 2K streams on Spotify, followed by “birthday cake” which reached over 11K streams. 

“Money Money Monkey” is the 3rd single released by the artist and in no time, it has already streamed over 2k times on Spotify only. Although the artist mentions that the song is “a protest against being caged physically and metaphorically”, it is mainly a protest against British Airways and the boss “Willie Walsh” and how the company’s system was unjust to its employees.  The music is captivating, unusual, and rebellious; it simply falls under no specific genre with its varied elements and overall mood. 

The song is accompanied by a music video release that perfectly reflects the meaning and context of the song. It is a part of his upcoming six-track debut EP that we surely can’t wait to explore.

The band came together during the lockdown when drummer; Arthur McConnell texted Tobias Hawkins, the former drummer for ‘Counting Crows’ and asked him if he was willing to record a vocal line for a track created by Arthur’s friend. “All I had to do was download an app onto my iPhone and join the fun.” Said Tobias. He found it a good enough alternative for live and group performances.  With Tobias on vocals, Arthur on drums, Cristian Hernandez on bass, and David Rodriguez on guitar, the 4-member band was able to challenge themselves and each other creating a sound familiar to the ears yet relates to nothing you’ve ever heard before. 

The song has an undeniable dark element, whether it’s in the choice of musical progression, the vocal style, or even the intensity of the lyrics. It is simply coming from a place of isolation and depression with a sense of hope that overshadowed most of us during the pandemic and lockdown. It is definitely worth listening to and we can’t wait to see what the promising band comes up with next.

The band just released a new, shorter, and less intense remix for “B song” which was part of their latest album “Four and a half” released earlier this year.  The song was done by the band’s guitarist and vocalist “Wojciech.” A grunge song with shoe gaze elements, sound effects, and a very distinctive vocal color. Throughout the song, you will catch a melody played by keyboard sound effects that answer back to the vocal line creating a significant theme and ambiance. The song was recorded by the band, mastered by Kevin Paul, and mixed by Joe Gibb. The release is accompanied by a simple black-and-white video that is shot and directed by Ivona. It shows a girl walking down the street in Belgrade with confidence, beautiful energy, and a wide optimistic smile. It’s surely interesting to listen to the original version and the remix to spot the differences and similarities while enjoying the overall ambiance. 

Last year, they released their latest album “The Invitation”; an eight-track album with an interesting storyline where each song leads to the next one while keeping a smooth transition. It starts with an “intro” a 30-second track that starts with the sound effect of an old radio changing channels that finally settles on one with a man giving a speech about “stillness and silence with us”, it moves to the next track immediately “The Invitation”; a one-minute track where the speech continues but with synths, smooth guitar tunes playing along, an interesting beat, intriguing pauses, and musical rests. I got emerged in the following 3 tracks: Bm, Aligned, and Baby Blue; they took me on a journey of mood transitions where each one struck a different nerve, each with a significant element to focus on, while all blending in perfectly together as if they belong to one another. “Days” was the one that got caught up in my head the most with its guitar chords, clapping sound effects, and simple drumline. The chorus is almost impossible to forget. The song simply sounds familiar yet like nothing you’ve heard before. A music video was released for “Days” with a scene from the 1952 movie “Singing in the Rain” that almost syncs perfectly with the lyrics and melody.

I found, every melody, tune, sound effect, and context of this album; unique, intriguing, and simply enjoyable, it’s a definite ‘add-to-playlist’ album. The band pulls off a one-of-a-kind live show with visual effects, projection, smoke, confetti, and anything that can simply add to the overall experience and fits with the musical context.
