The French singer-songwriter Fox Nigon, the origin of his nickname: “The DarkCrooner,” is also known as the former Godfather of France AVC, an organization for stroke research and prevention. He decided after his stroke in 2008 to leave all his previous life and take music as his true path and therapy. ‘My Girl’ is his latest release which is an epic mellow-rock hit indeed. I loved how the guitars are very smooth either the clean chords or the overdriven riffs, I believe the great alignment here is because of such impressive arrangement for the track. His singing style reminds me of many artists really including Bruce Springsteen, Joe Cocker, Banners, Ed Sheeran, Lou Reed, Simply Red, among many others and all of such inspirations either French or international shaped his vocals style to be more of the most unique voices that I have heard this year. Actually, I am really impressed how it’s so emotive, melodic, and powerful as well. In general, his music is outstanding indeed and what I really like is how it has several influences such as pop, rock, blues, and folk, still each style has its own character through his music although there’s great diversity. Also, I highly recommend you take a look at the music video below, it certainly reflects the general condition of the song, I loved the footage, filming, and the direction really.
