Singer Amanda Mac shares: “I love ‘The Itch’ because when performing live, it’s a song that I perform 100% honestly every single time. The chaotic live version is one of my favorite things to perform. And no, none of it is a bit or rehearsed (even the time I lost my phone) — it’s always exactly what it is.”

A sonic time capsule of Bad Mary’s decade-long punk journey, Live on Long Island is a 16-track collection recorded live and rowdy, celebrating the band’s high-octane stage energy. More live videos will roll out in the weeks leading up to the album’s release, with the full slate of songs and videos dropping on album day.

“We’ve always felt that our live performance is the true Bad Mary experience,” says bassist/vocalist Mike Staub. “We love interacting with the crowd and feeding off their energy. Live on Long Island really captures that.”

The album spans eras and features fan favorites from across their discography, including tracks from Killing Dinosaurs (2015) like “Soap Box,” “Hanging Around,” and “Want What I Want,” as well as “Trouble” and “Marz Attaqx” from We Could Have Saved the World (2016). Songs like “Space Girl,” “Don’t Know Where the Line Is,” “Forget About It,” and “Ninja” hail from 2014’s Better Days, while 2017’s Glitter Bomb is represented by “Japan.” More recent cuts include “Vibe-Icide,” “Are You With The Band?” and “It’s All Trash” from 2023’s Trash & Glamour, and “The Itch” and “Disaster Party” from The Return of Space Girl (2019), with both “Disaster Party” and “Want What I Want” also appearing on Mega Bad Disaster Party (2024). The band also pays homage to their roots with a fiery cover of “Tie Your Mother Down” from Rock and Roll Classics Vol. 7 (2022).

The band — bassist Mike Staub, vocalist Amanda Mac, guitarist David Henderson, and drummer Bill Mac — is a tight-knit crew that uses punk rock and punchy humor to push back against the chaos of modern life. Their releases have earned regular airplay on SiriusXM’s Underground Garage, multiple “Coolest Song in the World” titles, and high praise from New Noise Magazine, which noted their “rebellious lyrical content and punchy guitars, bass, and drums… Bad Mary enjoy what they do and make no apologies.”

Beyond the live release, the band is hard at work on a brand-new studio album due out later this year and recently launched their own podcast, Are You With The Band?, which you can find on your favorite streaming platform.

Bassist Mike Staub shared, “Space Girl’ has always been a very important song for us. Not only did it inspire an album and a movie — it’s also the first song that I brought to Bad Mary when we started to write original music.”

Originally featured on their 2014 album Better Days, “Space Girl” gets a turbo-charged makeover in this new live version—raw, loud, and unmistakably Bad Mary. The video captures the band’s signature high-energy stage presence and punk attitude that have made them a staple of the indie rock scene.

This marks the second video release from Live on Long Island, following the April 15 drop of “Marz Attaqx.” PopPunkers.com called it, “Pure adrenaline that you will not be able to stop dancing or chanting at all times, wherever you go,” and Rockola Magazine described it as, “A powerful recording… strident guitars, husky vocals, and nostalgic touches leave a strong footprint within the contemporary emo/punk genre.”

Bad Mary—made up of Amanda Mac (vocals), David Henderson (guitar), Mike Staub (bass/vocals), and Bill Mac (drums)—have steadily built a following with their unrelenting punk rock energy, sharp wit, and a discography spanning over a decade. From 2014’s Better Days to their recent release Better(er) Days (2024), they’ve proven themselves masters of evolution without ever losing their edge.

Beyond the stage and studio, the band also hosts their newly launched podcast, Are You With The Band, and recently teamed up with fellow Long Island band Mega Infinity for the split single Mega Bad Disaster Party, available now on vinyl and streaming.
