The music video captivates viewers with its compelling footage. Christopher explained to his audience the origins of the idea and the challenges he faces in reviving his band. He shared, “Once upon a time, I was part of a small-town student band named ‘Labi Rance,’ performing in intimate venues across Chemnitz, Germany. Some of our songs were recorded using a four-track cassette player, and these tracks are essentially all that’s left of the band. Since 1995, band members have mostly pursued different paths.”

‘Northbound Track’ blends 80’s rock ballads with a modern hard rock twist, creating a captivating listening experience. The emotive and anthemic vocal delivery is incredibly impactful. Christopher reminds me of myself. Although I am familiar with DAWs and plugins, keeping up with advancements in new music production and recording processes is a challenge for me. “In 2020, I started to acquaint myself with the computerized home recording studio equipment of today – not so easy for someone who is normally at war with computers. And I recorded my first new songs, making classic rookie mistakes. Nevertheless, I was once again hooked on music. Since then I spend a lot of my leisure time slowly honing my music recording skills. I’m never going to be a professional music producer, I know. But what’s wrong with going on and improving myself if it’s so much fun! So expect song after song from me now!” – Christopher shared his experience.

Although it was challenging to reunite the original band lineup – a situation I can personally relate to from my musical projects two decades ago – there is enthusiasm for consistently introducing new songs. This prospect excites me because, in this era of AI, there is a longing for the classic, polished output.
