‘Terry’ is the title of INDOLORE’s latest single. The singer and songwriter with Irish roots and a base of operations in the French capital, presents his listeners with ‘Terry’, a song written for his friend, English music icon Terry Reid. Written shortly before Terry’s sudden health deterioration and his passing away in the summer of 2025, INDOLORE managed to run the song by him and get his heartfelt approval right away, and listening to the song, it’s honestly not difficult to understand why.

‘Terry’ is a soft and warm ballad that sounds exquisite. With its roomy and restrained bass and drum section and the fragile swoons from INDOLORE, ‘Terry’ establishes an outstanding groove and an extremely warm vibe. The electric keyboard is masterfully struck. There is honestly a general sense of tasteful restraint that runs throughout this professional and focused mix, all in all making ‘Terry’ a truly gorgeous piece of music to listen to.

INDOLORE is a great figure in French underground pop and soul landscapes. A singer/songwriter with an astounding heart, voice, and impact. We have lost an endearing figure from the infamous generation that initiated the British Invasion when we lost Terry Reid, and it is comforting that artists as tasteful as INDOLORE are treating this tragedy with enough grace and inspiration as to birth something as heartfelt as ‘Terry’

Based in Hagen, Germany, The Cumberland River Project is a musical outfit spearheaded by Frank Renfordt, a virtuoso songwriter who began writing songs at the age of ten. After a prolonged hiatus in which Renfordt focused on career and family, he is now back with more songs that sound truly mesmerizing. ‘Looking For Romance’ is a wonderfully produced piece of sophisticated pop with elements of jazz, funk, and big band music. With the song’s rich horns, immediate melodies, and gripping hooks, ‘Looking For Romance’ is a song that can be replayed exhaustively.

Featuring the serene but powerful voice of singer Liliia Kysil whose soft delivery is dynamic, shapeshifting to settle neatly within the groove, or soar above the majestic horns whenever needed. The final piece of the puzzle is the fantastic production which is balanced, warm, and punchy. A truly professional piece of work that is vividly layered, rewarding repeated listens with more and more layers getting exposed with each new listen.

The gorgeous saxophone solo is simple and endlessly enjoyable, the distorted lead guitar solo as well is balanced and cool, sensual additions to an otherwise borderline perfect song, ‘Looking For Romance’ is a fantastic introduction for The Cumberland River Project into a brand new year.

The music moves like a steady pulse beneath the skin. Flecks of ’80s rock warmth surface briefly, brushed by contemporary soul and softened by funk-inflected restraint. The groove never pushes forward aggressively; instead, it carries the song with an ease that feels instinctual. Batera’s rhythmic sensibility is felt not in excess, but in balance; in how each phrase lands, breathes, and lets go.

The song’s emotional center rests in a refrain that resists embellishment. Its words are plain, almost conversational, yet repeated with a quiet resolve that gives them weight. Rather than convincing the listener of love’s permanence, it simply inhabits it. The result is intimacy without performance, commitment without declaration.

Strings drift in with a hushed elegance, arranged with the participation of a member of Roupa Nova. They don’t announce themselves; they shimmer at the edges, adding a cinematic softness that lifts the song without ever overshadowing it.

Though shaped by a life between Brazil and Lisbon, Milton Batera’s Pra Sempre, Unexpectedly, feels unanchored to place. It speaks in a universal emotional language about love, that doesn’t arrive with fireworks, but stays precisely because it never needed them!

The track begins with a supercharged bass playing along with amazing drums during the verse. The leading female vocals are gonna energize you once the lead vocalist begins her opening lines, and the gripping attitude of the song will keep you hooked throughout its four and a half minutes duration. 

The strength of the bassline proves that these guys really “don’t need a guitar” to rock and be amazing. And further proof exists as we reach the amazing solo section here. This is the moment I knew that this song is phenomenal indeed. The last chorus is sung in a higher key than the ones before it, consolidating the idea that the vocalist is a goddess who can carry her own weight and that these guys can rock like no other with their “no guitar” methods. I’m really not gonna spoil the many surprises this song has got…but all I’m gonna tell you is that this is gonna be a song, unlike anything in your playlist. 

Oh My God! It’s The Church takes us on a trip to the end of the world with their second EP “Revelations” released on the 15th of April, 2022. Mixing influences creating their very own sound that they described as “Prince-Meets-P-Funk-Preaching Gospel banger” they created this theatrical story that I bet will make a spectacular live show. To give us a brief of what’s waiting for us, Oh My God! It’s The Church simply described “Revelations” as “a dance-off between Tenacious D, Parliament-Funkadelic and Flight of the Conchords on the set of Don’t Look Up” so, let’s dig into it

The story begins with “Revelations” which has a crazy chaotic buildup and a rocking riff that made me super excited to get into the EP. We start to get more into the story and characters with “Armageddon on it” that’ll also give us a glimpse of our story’s universe. “Welcome to the Congregation” boosts the mood with its funky festive vibe. The use of trumpets and choir with those Hendrix-influenced guitars and groovy bass will set any live show on fire, and that engaging vocal melody convinced me to join the congregation myself. That game show on “Commercial Break 2” is so damn dark, and the way purgatory, afterlife and our last days on earth can simply turn into business and media content sounds like something that can -sadly- happen. “Put your Hands Up” hits you with some real lyrics that’ll make you think a lot. It has a lovely mellow vocal melody with beautiful strings, piano and bass jazzy vibes, plus an unpredictable lovely flute outro. Our protagonist gets a call from a guy from “The Record Label” asking him to write some “Apocahits” but instead, his girlfriend had a way better idea. “Kiss My ApocaLips” is one of the coolest song titles I’ve ever seen. Music-wise, it’s an awesome heavy rocking tune with a big intro and massive sound. It has pure rock n roll vibes from riffs to vocals, a super catchy chorus, and an awesome shredding solo. If you are a fan of cover songs then you would love this next song. A cover of Nancy Sinatra’s “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” with a heavy metal twist that sent me off my seat headbanging at work, amazing vocal delivery mixed with heavy guitar work, energetic drumline, keys, and a heavy trumpet outro. “Commercial Break 3” gets you more into what’s going on in this crazy world with a radio program where you request your last song, a reality tv show with influencers fighting till death for a vaccine, and more twisted commercials. Things start to cool down with “The Message” which is delivered in a mellow effective way, it has smooth interesting progression and escalation that feels like an overwhelming stream of sounds and melodies. “Epilogue” marks the end, leading us to the last chapter of our story “The Sinner”. “The Sinner” is a perfect ending for this journey, it has cool structure and dynamics, builds up perfectly into a heavy massive tune with a distinctive groove, and a rocking solo ending the EP on a high note. 

“Revelations” is an interesting trip by Oh My God! It’s The Church that I’m glad I had the chance to take. It has well-crafted theatricals, amazing dynamics, expressive tunes, and perfectly placed interludes, basically everything I always look for in a concept album.
