DCxPC Live are back with another banger on their latest release DCxPC Live Vol. 12 Fortitude Live at Lou’s, released on vinyl on the 22nd of December 2023. With 25 years of playing and recording up their sleeve, Fortitude brought their Old Ethics in a remarkable live set played at Lou’s, showing their legacy and how they stood for all these years, and we’re gonna dig deep into that on this record.

Tossing a bluesy rendition of The Star Spangled Banner before coming slashing at the listeners with full force, Fortitude opened their set with Star Spangled Hate, cementing their fast, relentless sound with lightning-speed raw riffs and engaging hooks. Return of the Real opens with melodic guitars building up to a hard-hitting verse with an irresistible groove, pushing powerfully forward with intense energy and clever dynamic shifts, throwing their fans off their seats moshing and headbanging to their heavy pounding drums, thick riffs, and raw hardcore energy as we move through their fluid dynamic twists and turns. Maintaining Fortitude’s driving energy and powerful flow, Red Aunt Riot comes next with blasting drums, storming fast riffs, and a killer groove that shines brightly through its extremely dynamic structure. It steadily moves forward supported by expressive, bold vocals and attacking guitar works, keeping the set’s dynamics high. Taking no rest, The Aftermath picks up its predecessors’ vibes. It hits with a piercing, mood-boosting sound that takes the listeners by storm, offering more rawness and brutality to Fortitude’s irresistible mix. Six Million Cries opens with a cool thrashy build-up before it dramatically shifts into an attacking storm of riffs and fast beats, driving the listeners crazy with its relentless grinding groove and twisting structure, ending with an epic singalong engaging outro. Old Ethics comes next with an even harder flow and unmatchable energy, with more detailed dynamic writing and unpredictable twists in a really interesting structure with a rollercoaster flow that ends with an epic jump-around driving groove. Let’s Face It and How Many both come next pushing Fortitude’s sound boundaries even further as they build up on the energy and grinding flows of their predecessors while keeping the listeners’ attention with their catchy guitar work and crazily hard-hitting drums. Hazed opens with some sludgy riffs offering a refreshing sound. It gets a mix of slow sludgy riffs with Fortitude’s signature intensity, creating an interesting mix of grooves and tempos in a solidly written structure. Terrycloth March eases us in with a guitar melody leading to a brutal machine gun blasting verse and then boosts the energy to the max with the catchy hooking chorus, in a fluidly dynamic structure as we approach the end of the record. The Game comes next offering everything any heavy music fan wants, ending the record on a high note. It has the big riffs, the pure punk attitude, killer guitar work, blasting drums, and fat basslines in a relentless structure that opens up as it moves forward towards a bigger sound and a bigger ending with each sound shift that happens, and that second part they played after stopping heated things again, leaving the listeners wanting more.

DCxPC Live Vol. 12 Fortitude Live at Lou’s is a high dose of punk, hardcore, and overall pure heaviness that’s delivered with unstoppable contagious energy, that’s fastly channeled to the listeners driving them crazy through Fortitude’s authentic writing and organic flows. Recommended for any heavy music fan, looking forward to more from you guys. Cheers!

Feminist/political HC Punk band from NYC Necrotic Society released a new hefty album under the DCxPC brand, the album is titled “DCxPC Live & Dead Vol. 2 Necrotic Society”…the album has two sides, Live (side A, live performance) and Dead (side B, studio recordings), which is quite unique with an out of the box approach…

…before delving into the album, let me give you some insight into what DCxPC is…

DCxPC Live was established during the pandemic when live shows shifted to streamed and were being recorded.

DCxPC decided to release these streams as live albums on vinyl, paying homage to the 1990s VMLive album covers.

After the pandemic ended, DCxPC continued recording the live shows and sought out bands with past live albums that were never issued on vinyl to reissue them.

DCxPC Live has since expanded to recording full live shows and releasing live shows from the past…after that, they started a new line called Live & Dead, with live on one side and dead (studio) on the other…and that is where we stand with Necrotic Society’s album.

Necrotic Society has 4 members, Saba (guitar), Courtney (vocal), Javi (Bass), and JR(Drum) and the band was formed in 2016 by Alex and JR.

They released their first DIY album in 2017 and have performed with various bands. In 2019, they released their second work and first vinyl and did their first tour in Mexico. Despite COVID affecting everyone’s performances, they continued to work and create new music. In 2021, they contributed to the “Back to the roots of NYHC” compilation and released their third work and split with Italian band “The Dick’s Dastardly”…and now, their album with DCxPC has 21 songs, an album full to the brim with Necrotic Society’s unique volcano-eruption-levels of energy.

The album has two sides, the live one and the dead one…it starts with the live side, and from the get-go, we’re greeted with a very powerful song titled “Manifest”, fast, powerful, and doesn’t hold back any punches, all members of Necrotic Society” must have all agreed on ‘hey, let’s just let go and rock on’…and that, they did.

Going into their second live performance, they somehow managed to take it up a notch even further with “Break Your Chains”…it should come with a warning sign that says ‘extreme headbanding may cause injury’…oozing power.

On the other hand, or another side I should say…they start out with their song “Necrotic Society”, a heavy punk ballad, if that’s even a word…but it is, its thematic and it’s a journey…it’s got a completely different vibe from the live side…and that is absolutely great, you get to witness two completely different sides of the same musical charisma that is Necrotic Society.

They continue their energy-driven direction with more powerful songs like “Paralyzed”, “Wake Up” and the last song on the album “Stipid or on purpose”…which starts out on perhaps what might be the highest point of energy maybe on the whole album…it really raises the bar one more time and sits on the top of the punk/metal mountain.

We wish all the best to Necrotic Society and wish them an excellent year ahead with all their musical goals surpassed and their star shining even brighter.

Cheers!

…we’ve seen double albums before, sure…

…we’ve seen remix albums…

…but today, we’re witnessing something new…one album, two bands

With boundless levels of musical energy and power…you’re in for one of the most unique and musically charged powerful albums you’ll hear in quite some time.

…did we say that all the songs are also live performances?

What we’re talking about is none other than DCxPC Live Vol. 16, with the first band being Skappository on the first side and Scum Shots on the second side

…and let’s start with getting to know the awesome people behind this monumental musical achievement from both bands…

Skappository is

Tony Morace – Lead Vocals & Guitar

Jess DeBellis – Keytar & Vocals

Christian Lesperance – Lead Guitar & Vocals

Mike Nigro – Bass & Backing Vocals

Dominic Barranco – Drums

Scum Shots is

Ricky Vega – Lead Vocals & Guitar

Jamie Crispino – Bass & Vocals

Nick Parisi – Guitar & Vocals

Mike Sanbeg – Drums

…and this is all the work of DCxPC…

DCxPC Live came into inception during the pandemic when live shows went to live streams. They recorded the streams, and decided to release them as live albums on vinyl with covers that pay homage to the VMLive album covers of the 1990’s.

When the pandemic ended, they continued to put on live shows, record them and looked for bands with past live albums that were never issued on vinyl for reissue and had bands record live shows in their home states.

This album “DCxPC Live Vol. 16 Skappository / Scum Shots” has two sides of it, one is the Skappository, which delivers powerful and upbeat Ska-oriented rock while Scum Shots goes for a wild grungy direction.

Skappository delivers an excellently entertaining tracklist of 6 songs that will make you jump, scream and just let loose…from their first song “The Blood I Bleed”, you’ll instantly get hooked and completely sucked into their Ska-Rock hybrid world…always maintaining high levels of energetic and musical performances.

…while the second half of this unique musical experience takes a completely different direction with Scum Shots’ powerful grungy attitude that shares some musical DNA with the 90s grunge movement…

With 7 songs on their side, Scum Shots keeps things fresh with a diverse tracklist of the upbeat, bright, punk/grunge mixed with some darker-toned songs like “D.I.T.NO.L.”…a fast, powerful, and dark grungy punk song that will stick in your brain for quite some time.

Pre-order starts Dec. 1st and goes until Dec. 8th. Vinyl is on sale for $15 this week with a chance to win VMLive Vol. 16 SICKO Live 7″…make sure to check out this epic musical experience.

We wish all the best to DCxPC, Skappository and Scum Shots…DCxPC for such a brilliant concept, Skappository, and Scum Shots for the stunningly entertaining live performance of a lifetime.

Can’t wait to hear more of this awesome and unique musical approach

Cheers!

Our compilation opened with Sticky Steve‘s Cathedrals, a fun powerful acoustic tune with loads of energy. Steve‘s authentic sound and blasting enthusiasm are fused with his heavy strumming, producing a fast straight-to-the-point piece with an emotional side. Vultures hits next with an organic changing sound and a mellow flow. It has engaging vibes and a storytelling mood that keeps the listeners on board. Waves closes Sticky Steve‘s set with a heavy aggressive twist. His sharp chords and high, full-of-life vocals grab the audience’s attention and keep them hooked till the end. Borrowed Spark‘s set opened with Are You Listening, a warm acoustic tune with 90s alternative vibes and an open inviting flow. As the song progresses, we get introduced to some subtle country influences, all within its flowing dynamic structure. With a big powerful intro and stronger country influences, Man with a Different Name comes next. It has a bright-sounding structure with beautiful melodies, led by a smooth passionate vocal melody that instantly captures the listener. Steering towards a more mellow approach comes Patron Saint, the final song on Borrowed Spark‘s set. It’s a soft dreamy ballad that shows Borrowed Spark‘s different sides of writing, with its heart-hitting melodies and deep dark sound that they kept intact while smoothly crafting their dynamics into such a solid tune. Jacob Danielsen-Moore announced their arrival with Coke Dick Motorcycle Awesome, a heavy powerful tune with a deep emotional side within its hard vibes. Jacob Danielsen-Moore cements their raw sound and authentic attitude on OF (Only Fans). It has dark arpeggios and catchy vocals in an organic structure that has a natural streaming flow. Jacob Danielsen-Moore ends their set with Deep Valley, a dedication to a friend who passed away filled with melancholic melodies. It has subtly heavy chords that resonate with the heartfelt vocal delivery and lyrics, offering a sincere tune that gets the band closer to their listeners. Dougie Flesh & The Slashers brings a faster and more groovy approach as they kickstart their set with I Want to Believe. It has a punk-ish groove with a sharp acoustic tone and a heavy pace that keeps things intense and interesting. Followed by Printerdix, Dougie Flesh & The Slashers‘ heavy groovy approach, deep fat bass, and unfiltered aggressive vocals made their raw sound and style crystal clear. Ending their set and the whole record comes Something in the Shadows, it has a fast dynamic structure with driving vocals and mood-changing guitar shifts. Those interesting shifts created a hooking flow that grabbed the listeners’ attention with its raw authentic vibes.

This is a cool compilation that allows us to check out four bands with diverse approaches and writing styles, giving the listener a chance to know their music, chemistry, and live attitude which leads to more people showing up and getting a real taste of their music. Looking forward to more, cheers!

The DCxPC live community has been firing on all cylinders for a while now. Since their inception around the time of the pandemic, when live performances started facing strict restrictions, and most of them had to be moved to confined environments and live streams of controlled shows, DCxPC took it upon their shoulders to record those streams and then publish them as live vinyl records with covers that pay homage to VMLive album covers of the 1990s. Today we bring you yet another live show and yet another DCxPC release of Degenerates of Punk live from Ralph’s Rock Diner.

Calling their sound Ramones-core pop punk, Degenerates of Punk’s life shows are quite simply a blast. Infectious, hectic, and energetic, their breakneck-paced cuts are short and rapid, organic and heartfelt too. The drums are powerful and the yelled vocals are charismatic. Perhaps the live recording sound leaves a little to be desired on this particular cut from DCxPC, but there can be no denying that the stellar performances left the crowd rowdy and quite hyped, as we can clearly hear after each song.

This Degenerates of Punk DCxPC release is a noble effort to catch the lightning of pandemic-era live shows in many, neatly-designed bottles. The recordings successfully translate the energy and intentions behind those performances quite well, if they translate the sound slightly less so. This vinyl is a quirky novelty that will be quite precious for collectors of quirky and limited punk recordings.

It was extremely easy for me to forget that these songs were recordings of live performances, until the frontmen started addressing a crowd in between the songs, in a few moments that brought me back to reality.

DCxPC live is a collective that releases albums and live recordings, and having been once astonished by their Rise Defy’s super short and super heavy 2-song EP, they are back with a double feature from two bands from the Tampa, Florida area. Two extremely heavy bands whose sounds discover two distinct tropes of hardcore punk. RATH & The Wise Guys are heavier, more hardcore, less composed and more out there, with hectic, electrifying performances, prominent obscenities and a song that’s outwardly about drugs, for a vibe that’s totally infectious, energizing, and unsafe for kids. The Kuttofs on the other hand are more understated, with sensible vocals, more prominent melodies, longer songs with verses and choruses, while maintaining breakneck tempos, blistering distortion, and a sound that’s all-around punk.

For a live recording, the two sets are incredibly well mixed, and as for the performances, it suffices to say that the audience really witnessed 2 bands laying it all down as hard as humanly possible, with RATH & The Wise Guys’s frontman even proclaiming that this was the best time they ever played ‘Stiffed’ live, the two bands performed outstandingly for an incredible fulfilling listen. Nose Candy, the song about “drugs, drugs, drugs” is particularly groovy, with meaty riffs, and a terrific vocal performance that’s dangerously catchy. The Kuttofs’ rhythm section is really doing something for the ages here, and with the drum kit mixed right in the middle between the 2 speakers, front, and center, it’s really easy to hear the extremely busy kick drum beat going mad behind the fiery riffs, and the delicious, overdriven bass.

Another awesome live set from DCxPC that will convince you that if you’re a punk aficionado, you should be looking to book the nearest flight to Tampa, and head directly to Uncle Lou’s to witness one of those intense sonic assaults in person.

The Washington DC hardcore punk veterans, Rise Defy, are back with a blistering EP that begins and ends in a flurry of rapid beat, tough attitude, and sublime musicality.

The DC-based Rise Defy are an illustrious collective, with members, both currently and in the past from Scream, HR Band, and Police & Thieves, among others, making it easy to spot where the band’s rough and calculated sound comes from; this is a group of experienced musicians whose collective hours between them in the DC punk scene is something that other bands would envy. This release leans more heavily on the punk side of things than on the hardcore part, with melodies that are pronounced and singing that’s rough and tough, but still retains a hint of sweetness, especially in the spoken parts before and between the songs.

Shellshocked starts this little one-two EP with a healthy supplement of colorful punk. This song introduces us to the sound of the group, in particular the gnarly singing, and the killer bass playing. A song that’s endearingly about finding one’s tribe, Shellshocked is exhilarating and the mixing makes this intimate live setting fall perfectly somewhere in the late 60s, with the hairy, hardly contained distortion on the guitar, the percussive, overdriven bass, and the mighty, metallic tinge to the sound of the drums. Long Road Home is like a time capsule to a Sex Pistols fiery night, melodic hardcore punk with a bright edge, while simultaneously sounding like an unreleased Zeppelin jam with a subtle hint of the blues in the multitude of colorful riffs.

A band formed in the pandemic to stand against the rise of neo-fascism in the era of President Trump, Rise Defy have skill and purpose, but here they excel is with their soul. Only 40 copies of these live releases with be printed on vinyl, and I can easily see these prints becoming valuable collectibles among the DC area collectors of local talent memorabilia. These guys seem like they are having a lot of fun, and that’s exactly what they should keep doing.

In the Metaverse futuristic era when you will have an immersive virtual universe and be able to attend concerts through apps enjoying a surreal experience whilst setting on your L-shape sofa in your living room. Well, how about having this experience NOW through only your hearing and would still feel as if you are attending the show through the DCxPC Live marvelous record?

DCxPC Live presents the Hardcore Punk band Some Kind Of Nightmare with a live recorded EP from the first gig post-COVID that flames with energy and passion and hunger for music also.

From San Diego, United States the Hardcore Punk band ruthlessly and passionately plays their flash speed riffs and angry-themed music at Lou’s LMGA in Orlando, where you can sense the power of the stage and presence just by ear.

The EP is raw and contains hardcore sounds of the drums played by Joshua Varichak and guitar riffs by Chy Mess and also fast pace basslines by Molly Mess.

The EP is in a fast form and resonates as a Hardcore Punk classic record that it was released in vinyl! A bizarre mixture of Vinyl, live experience, and Hardcore Punk.

Some Kind Of Nightmare have already started their US winter tour on Dec 9th, touring in states like Texas, Louisiana, and California until January 21st and blasting some fire-flaming warming riffs to your cold winter.
