Move by BADSQUATCH arrives with vibrant energy and an undeniable sense of fun, blending retro nostalgia with a story rooted in growth and transformation. Inspired by the spirit of classic 80s workout anthems, the track embraces movement not only as a physical act, but as a form of emotional release and renewal.

Following the darker atmosphere of Such a Burden, Move takes a strikingly different direction. Where its predecessor explored self-doubt and emotional weight, this release leans into light, momentum, and optimism. Yet beneath its bright synth lines and danceable rhythm lies a more personal narrative shaped by heartbreak, healing, and self-reinvention.

The song moves comfortably between indie rock, funk, disco, alternative pop, and unmistakable 80s influences. Sequenced synth textures give the arrangement its nostalgic pulse, while the playful vocal layers add character and warmth. The intentionally “workout-song” aesthetic becomes one of the track’s greatest strengths, creating a listening experience that feels energetic without losing emotional sincerity.

One of the most refreshing aspects of Move is its refusal to fit neatly into expectations. BADSQUATCH approaches genre with freedom, allowing the song to exist somewhere between retro celebration and personal reflection. That willingness to take risks gives the track its individuality and keeps it engaging from beginning to end.

Recorded at Topetitud Estudios in Mexico City as part of a larger fourteen-track project exploring mental health, self-love, shadow work, and growth, Move offers an early glimpse into an album that seems determined to remain unpredictable.

With Move, BADSQUATCH transforms nostalgia into something more meaningful. The result is a track that celebrates motion, embraces change, and reminds listeners that sometimes healing arrives not through stillness, but through movement itself!

“Hot Disco Shit” is the groove you’ve been waiting for…it’s a hot, downtempo disco hit…and it hits all the marks.

Fusing between alternative rock, pop with darker vibes made 9 O’clock Nasty grace the world with a unique musical vibe…methodical, slow, anthemic, pop, deep…these are some of the words that could describe but not give credit to the brilliance behind the making of “Hot Disco Shit”.

On the lyrical and storytelling side of things, “Hot Disco Shit” is a story about nights lost at the gates of heaven. Fun and laughter stopped by the doorman’s stern rebuke. A song about footwear being judged. About sex and death becoming too close for comfort…it’s an experience to say the least.

…and many times when artists try to tackle a deep, sensitive or even surreal topic…they go for a very generic direction, let me tell you this, not 9 O’clock Nasty, no sire…the British group managed to create a super catchy melodic and rhythmic environment where they shine brightly and uniquely.

Unlike other songs where the chorus is the most memorable section, “Hot Disco Shit” manages to be catchy across the board…the verses, the chorus, even the instrumental intro sucks you in and holds you tight.

The bassline here guys…what a groove…

…the musical production, melodies and the group vocal performance all set the mood and made the trip absolutely brilliant and unforgettable.

“Hot Disco Shit” will be released everywhere on the 1st of June…and it drops with a music video too, a trippy one that goes perfectly hand in hand with the direction the group went for…all the elements fit like a glove with this one.

Wishing all the best to the very unique and soul-catching group 9 O’clock Nasty…can’t wait for the whole world to enjoy “Hot Disco Shit”. Cheers!

Artist Josh Long soothes our hearts like wrapping a bandaid over a bad scar with his new song ‘ Tidal wave’, a warm and honest track you need for a little bum of sun after a hurricane. Long released this indie rock song on the 20th of January, all the way from San Francisco. Josh is a self-taught singer, songwriter and guitarist who is influenced by artists like Eagles and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Long has been working hard to release singles that will reach his listeners, and creating music that is real, and it’s been ten years since his musical journey started.

Warm, balmy and funny is typically how you’d describe this song although words don’t do it justice. It’s nostalgicness comes from the 70’s classic rocks clean, sharp yet groovy tunes of the electric guitar that will make way easily into your soul and trap you into the rhythm. The song talks about unrequited connections that leave you feeling like you’re not good enough or that there might be something wrong with you. The song perfectly imitates the feelings with the music apart from the lyrical aspect. You’ve got a moody beat with an undertone of sadness and emotive vocals packaged in a nonchalant manner. The overall sound of the song is funky and chill. The musical arrangements are rich with a lot of acoustic guitars, a groovy bass line, fun backing vocals and clapping sound effects. The vocals are soft and a little bit drenched in pain yet you will find peace and comfort because of how radiant this song actually is. Josh Long’s taste continues to inspire us to look deeper into our emotions.
