An American musician based in South County, Erick Duran Manard’s juicy classic rock riffs and off-kilter song-building skills are in the spotlight in his latest single ‘Lament of the Weary / Light so Shine’. With rhythmically trippy riffs and a charismatic presence from his guitars, Manard’s songwriting shines as a powerful and puzzling force throughout the song.

‘Lament of the Weary / Light so Shine’ is based on a biblical message of Matthew and it is a song that explores Manard’s personally journey through faith and self-discovery. An ambient guitar section dramatically starts the song before Manard’s rocking barrage starts with a snaking riff that’s bluesy and dripping with character. The consistent twisting and turning of the song’s harmony and tonality merge quite provocatively with its empowering words to create an atmosphere that’s quite unique and fresh.

A puzzling collection of riffs, solos, and rhythms that come together rather unexpectedly to create something quite beautiful, Erick Duran Manard’s latest creation is a novel experiment of rock that is fresh and crisp.
