The EP titled Trust YOUR Inner Voice is like a time machine. After listening to it, I felt like I was transported to a riverside casino in the 60s. The jazz, blues, and gospel rock fusion gave me nostalgic feelings I couldn’t resist. I dare even say that there are a couple of songs within the EP that would fit right next to songs sung by jazz legends. The vocalists of the band have silky-soulful voices that could heal your heart.

Lady BeYou & the Soul Flame Sisters had said in a previous interview that they are influenced by Aretha Franklin, Adele, Anastacia, and Alabama Shakes, which is very clear in this EP. They have modernized soulful music, creating one masterpiece after another.

Trust YOUR Inner Voice EP has a clear message “Real change comes from the inner side, not from outside. It all depends just on you”. The message is not only evident with the lyrics, but you can also feel it through the melodies and vocals.

“Trust Your Inner Voice” & “Missing Piece” tracks felt tender, delicate, and simmering. Both tracks fit perfectly as an introduction to the EP. I considered these tracks, the calm before the raging storm, in a sense.

“Be Yourself” felt like a calling. After the first two tracks, this song felt like a summons. The song alternates between an upbeat melody and mellow music. You can see the real potential of the singer in the explosive high notes.

“Mirror Mirror” starts strong, and the beat picks up very fast, as if sensing the narrator’s struggle. The song showcases a struggle to know oneself and the doubts that haunt you. It felt like the pinnacle of the storm.

“Another Day in Paradise” is packed with an empowering vibe that feels hopeful and electrifying. As if the narrator has reached a resolution to all her previous struggles and obstacles. Additionally, the track “Without You, I’m Drifting” felt like an affirmation; it sounded like the perfect ending to this epic EP, a strong finish indeed.

When I listened to their songs, I felt empowered, like I was the hero of my own story. I could conquer all the different plights life sends my way. The message is moving and exceptional, which is accompanied by extraordinary vocals and joyful, soul-stirring, and passionate music.

This EP is a soul-baring debut. It reveals heartfelt emotions and incredible talents. Lady BeYou & the Soul Flame Sisters have masterfully blended the styles and created beautiful songs that would let you easily connect to and enjoy. Their music is authentic, emotional, and raw. I will definitely be waiting for their upcoming work. 

 

What we know about Frank Richman is little. He’s fond of bananas, probably based in the Dutch capital Amsterdam, and he’s backed by an insanely gifted ensemble. ’99 Fire’ is an outstanding piece of funk. Timeless, truly. ’99 Funk’ is a song that cannot be hated. A groovy masterpiece rich with syncopation, charisma, and ever-so-impressive vocal howls from an astoundingly talented singer.

The absurdity behind all the bananas on the album art and all over the video only adds to the charm of all that Frank Richman currently stands for. ’99 Fire’ jams along with a lively pace that’s lush with sparkling funk guitars, tight as they should be, blaring horn leads that are just ever-so-sweet, a terrific rhythm section performance that’s solid as bone, and on top of it all, a vocal delivery that melts paint right off the wall. Frank Richman’s ensemble is full of exceptional musicians. 

’99 Fire’ also features a brilliant mix. Efficient and easy on the senses, the song has a sound that goes directly to the heart. A fantastic release by a mysterious new talent that’s already receiving well-earned radio time, Frank Richman is captivating.

Mick J. Clark’s release, “Glory Glory Hallelujah,” is a heartfelt Christmas song that transcends the festive season, delivering a powerful message for humanity. The song cleverly blends traditional Christmas themes with an urgent call for unity and love, a sentiment that feels deeply resonant and almost timeless in today’s unfortunately fractured world.

The song opens with timeless imagery of goodwill and gifts beneath the Christmas tree, immediately evoking the joy and warmth of the season. The chorus, “Sing glory glory hallelujah,” reverberates like an anthem, capturing the essence of hope and the collective yearning we all feel for a better world and a better tomorrow. 

Each verse builds on the central message, weaving biblical references such as the journey of the three wise men to Bethlehem, as well as adding a heartfelt prayer for peace and harmony. The poignant lines in the third and fourth verses, “A silent night when the world don’t fight is what we’re all praying for,” and, “Give us hope one day that the world can say that hatred is no more,” are also indeed striking a chord; offering a vision of what humanity might achieve through compassion and understanding. Asserting that we, collectively, have enormous power and potential, and we should absolutely keep that in mind.
