Set to premiere on August 30, 2024, Jane N’ The Jungle will be releasing their newest song and music video, “Beauty Queen”. Renowned for their raw intensity and keen social criticism, the alternative rock band offers yet another amazing song meant especially for the millennial age. After their summer hit “GTFO,” “Beauty Queen” is the second single off their forthcoming LP. Cameron Mizell, who has collaborated with well-known musicians such as Avril Lavigne, Memphis May Fire, and Sleeping with Sirens, produces the song, therefore raising great anticipation for its release.
The successfully mixed alternative music with hard rock, rock-pop, and indie rock in “Beauty Queen” Tight in structure, the song’s explosive opening grabs the listener’s attention from the first note and rapidly moves into the main theme. Steady, forceful rhythms that create suspense in the songs culminate into a chorus bursting with explosive force. Thanks to Mizell’s expertise, the song has a polished but rough edge that accentuates its impact, therefore improving the production quality.

Combining the rebellious mentality of early 2000s punk rock with the raw force and attitude present in the music of bands like Paramore and Halestorm, “Beauty Queen” has a sound that reminds one of the band’s flexibilities is seen in their ability to combine alternative rock with a little of metal and punk. While the vocal delivery matches the ferocity of Lzzy Hale from Halestorm, the strong guitars, crisp riffs, and aggressive drumming recall Paramore’s “Riot!” period. Fans of both current and old rock will find this mix of influences to produce a sound that is both new and nostalgic.

Driven mostly by a powerful mix of electric guitars, bass, and percussion, “Beauty Queen” Especially the guitars have great quality as they provide crisp, cutting riffs that give the music more intensity. The drums are persistent, driving the song along with great force; the bass offers a strong groove that holds the song together. Jordan White’s lead vocals are outstanding as her voice glides between soaring and gritty, heartbreaking lines with ease. Her delivery helps the song’s message to be more relevant as it catches the annoyance and disappointment stated in the lyrics.

Lyrically, “Beauty Queen” explores the idea of broken aspirations and false reality—a feeling that many millennial-aged people would be familiar with. The song analyses the hard reality of adult life against the idealized images of prosperity and pleasure presented to us as children. Direct, even combative, the words inspire listeners to face these disappointments squarely. This conceptual complexity gives the song dimensions, therefore transforming it from a rock hymn into a statement on the shared experience of a generation.

The visually arresting accompanying music video for “Beauty Queen” heightens the ideas of the song exactly. The film symbolizes the conflict between young aspirations and adult reality by combining vivid, sun-drenched sceneries with darker, more bizarre images. Emphasizing the song’s intensity, the band’s performance is caught in an unvarnished, forceful manner. The music becomes not just a hearing experience but also a visual one thanks to the video, with its production being on another level.

A great addition to Jane N’ The Jungle‘s repertoire, “Beauty Queen” shows their artistic development while honoring their beginnings. Sharp lyrics, powerful orchestration, and high-energy vocals taken together create a unique song destined to appeal to a broad audience. Along with its conceptual complexity, the song’s mix of alternative rock with metal and punk sets it among the most interesting releases in the genre this year. Fans of bands such as Paramore, Halestorm, and early 2000s punk will find great delight in “Beauty Queen.” The music video only improves the experience by providing an appealing story that corresponds with the intensity of the song.

Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Jane N’ The Jungle is a group that originated as a garage rock outfit more than a decade ago, in 2013, by childhood friends Jordan White and Brian Dellis. The music of Jane N’ The Jungle can be easily summarized by their latest single ‘GTFO’. A song about greed in the American street and the harrowing issue of gun violence, ‘GTFO’ is a meaningful banger that fights fire with fire.

WATCH ‘GTFO’ MUSIC VIDEO HERE!

Dominated by distorted riffs and steady, rock-solid beats, ‘GTFO’ has an instrumental that’s textbook hard rock goodness, with nu metal, alternative, and grunge rock tendencies in the abrasive timbres of the guitars, and in the mesmerizing charisma of frontwoman Jordan White’s intoxicating delivery. Passionate, brash, and loud, White’s performance in ‘GTFO’ display her as a singer with an intensely standout character.

‘GTFO’ is a song about real world issues that is ready to break all stereotypes about a genre. The duo bring their entertaining, high-octane musicality and wrap it in a dynamic and melodic guise on ‘GTFO’ the most violent sounding song about ending actual violence.

Everyone loves acoustic tracks, right? At our place, we adore Jane N’ The Jungle, and we’ve had the honour of reviewing and interviewing them multiple times. Today, I will be sharing my review of the acoustic rendition of their hit song from 2024, “Life of the Party.” Let’s delve into it.

Unlike many bands that simply convert the original track into acoustic versions with basic chords, Jane N’ The Jungle stands out by maintaining the original melodic vibe of “Life of the Party,” which they executed flawlessly. The original build-up of “Life of the Party“was smoothly unique combining atmospheric melody, heavy drumming, and powerful vocals leading to a big chorus. The song showcases a melodic mix, heavy metal roots, dynamic escalation, catchy flow, diverse vocal deliveries, mood-oriented guitars, and interesting drumming.

I appreciated their dedication to maintaining a rock/heavy essence in an acoustic format, which they managed to execute smoothly and professionally. As I’ve mentioned before, I firmly believe that Jane N’ The Jungle is on the path to becoming a rock icon in the near future. Cheers to that!

Jane N’ The Jungle announce their return with flowing soft guitar arpeggios and powerful heartfelt vocals right from Wasteland’s intro. They smoothly take us with a cleverly progressing sound that subtly pushes forward into a bigger heavier sound, while the listener is totally hooked by their solid flow and dynamic structure. I loved how the vocals and riffs walk hand in hand completing each other and equally contributing to the song’s dynamics, with each getting their time to shine and be clearly heard, and most importantly being effective to Wasteland’s structure, showing mature writing skills from Jane N’ The Jungle.

Wasteland shows a different side of Jane N’ The Jungle’s writing. I felt like they are focusing more on melodies and fluid progressions with a deep emotional side and I totally dig that! It has a solid structure that leads the listener softly and smoothly throughout its seamless progressing sections and leaves him/her satisfied and playing it over and over again. I’m always looking forward to more from Jane N’ The Jungle, keep on rocking guys.
1st of all we love having you on Rock Era Magazine guys, we always look forward to your releases.

I believe that every artist has a cool ‘’origins’’ story so, what influenced each one of you to pick his instrument?

I’ve been drawn to the voice being my instrument of choice from a young age, and always wanted to be a singer. Brian was inspired by punk rock music to learn the guitar in middle school and formed a band with his friends.

Your music incorporates elements from diverse genres/subgenres, from your POV how do you describe Jane N’ The Jungle’s sound?

Thank you! We describe our sound as Modern rock with a 90’s grunge influence.

Which song off your releases would you recommend for someone who wants to get into your music?

Hmmm this is a hard one… I think I would suggest “Wasteland” since it’s our most current release and hopefully then they will do a dive into our other singles.

With your single Wasteland dropping on the 19th of May, can you tell us about its writing process? And what’s behind its theme?

It has a post apocalyptic theme and was inspired by toxic relationships and the feeling of being stuck in a “Wasteland.”

WATCH HERE ‘WASTELAND’ MUSIC VIDEO!

Wasteland’s music video has some really cool visuals and artistic touch, what’s the concept behind it? And who was involved in its production?

The music video was directed by Jim Louvau and Tony Aguilera at Mad House Studios in Phoenix, AZ. They wanted to capture the post apocalyptic theme visually with the video and excited about how it all came together.

You guys have been performing for a while, do you have any interesting stories from being on the road?

Popped tires, running out of gas, sleepless nights, playing scam gigs, and definitely a lot more but wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Phoenix’s rocking trio Jane N’ The Jungle are back with their new heavy powerful single “Raw As A Jewel” via Cleopatra Records. Taking their musicianship and writing to the next level, Jane N’ The Jungle are destined to go really far with this. Let me tell you more about it.

“Raw As A Jewel” opens with a warming up inviting melody, before the heavy main riff kicks in. Jane N’ The Jungle chose a heavily melodic approach on this one, aided by powerful vocal melodies, fluid catchy riffs, and insanely enjoyable drumming. The swinging between the verse’s grungy filled-with-anticipation sound, and the chorus’ catchy big sound crafted the song’s dynamic flow, keeping things interesting and highly energetic. The structure’s accumulating, unstoppable progression with loads of fluid melodies getting heavier and bigger stole my attention throughout the song’s 3:40 minutes, and the way they managed keeping up with those heavy melodies without falling into creating something sketchy or overly done shows lots of skill and maturity by Jane N’ The Jungle.

“Raw As A Jewel” is incredibly enjoyable, and extremely energetic with a touch of darkness that even gives it more depth and texture. The relentless catchy melodies and how they were arranged in that catchy unskippable structure shows Jane N’ The Jungle’s clear talent and seasoned progressing writing skills that shine brighter with every new release. I’m always looking forward to more from Jane N’ The Jungle, keep on rocking guys, cheers!

The Phoenix based power trio Jane N’ The Jungle are back with their heavy riffs and energetic sound on their new single “Metal Ghost” that’ll be out on the 19th of August, 2022.

“Metal Ghost” was written right after Joey Jordison’s death was announced and it’s about following your heart and not being afraid of getting lost and that’s my friends, is one of the reasons why I love heavy metal. Jane N’ The Jungle brings all their hard and heavy influences and mixes them together creating their own sound right from the heavy distorted intro. It has a smooth flow as we go from one part to the next with constant melodic heaviness and powerful vocals. The bridge’s dynamics acted as a launching pad for the rocking groovy chorus that comes next which was pretty energetic and engaging. The interlude that starts around minute 2:00 added a heavy emotional layer with vocalist Jordan White’s singing “…I’m tired of counting all of my loses, coz I’m lost without you” totally felt that and loved how it shifted into the heavy chorus that led to the outro.

“Metal Ghost” is a hard and heavy yet approachable tune. It has a mix of influences from heavy metal to alternative and grunge giving it a flavour that I believe would appeal to a wide range of audience. The riffs are solid and heavy with a remarkable groove and powerful vocal delivery, totally recommended. Cheers!

We have the pleasure to share a 1-on-1 interview with a power trio from the realms of Grunge and Hard Rock: Jane N’ The Jungle.

From Phoenix, USA, Jane N’t The Jungle consists of fierce, dynamic modern rock with 90’s alt and a twist of punk attitude, pulling inspiration from Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins, and No Doubt.

With this body of work and the return of touring (fingers crossed), front-woman/songwriter Jordan White, guitarist Brian Dellis, and bassist Bryan Dague aka “Big B”, are poised to be on the radar of every rock fan across the globe on short order.

While we watch them rise, Rock Era Magazine has a few questions where we hope to learn more from them and their new song and video, “Ocean Creatures”.

Questions 1 –General:

How did you three meet, and how was Jane N’ The Jungle form?

Brian Dellis the guitarist and I went to kindergarten through high school together and started a garage band and writing music in 2013. Jane N’ The Jungle formed a few years after our first project. We met Bryan Dague (Big B) in 2017 while we were playing shows together.

Follow up Q: How did you all identify and find JNTJ ‘groove’ (style/genre)?

We all love 90’s grunge music and that is the core of our sound. There isn’t a sound we try to go for we just play the music and style we like playing and I think that has helped us find our own sound.

Question 2 –About Ocean Creatures:

The song is inspired by Jordan White’s car accident. We are very sorry you went through such an experience, and praise your valour for turning it into a music experience for your fans and the world.
So, what made you decide that you wanted to create a song from such a personal and intimidating moment in your life?

Thank you! At the time it didn’t really occur to me that I was writing the song based on the car accident. I was writing what felt authentic and real to me in the moment. It wasn’t until people started to ask what the song was about and where I drew my inspiration from that I had to dig deep and later realized I was pulling inspiration from my car accident. I like the art to speak for it’s self. It’s hard for me sharing such a personal experience but if it helps the listeners connect to the song more then I don’t mind sharing and talking about it.

Questions 3 –About the video:

How was your video live launch at The Viper Room (March 26th)? Was it your first?

It was an awesome night! We are so grateful for all of our LA support! We have been playing out in LA and on the Sunset Strip for many years. We are inspired by the Rock N Roll on the Sunset Strip and love to play our music in the iconic venues there.

How did you guys feel? Not just to launch it, but seeing the process from creating something to having people watching it and looking forward to more?

It felt so good to release a piece of art into the world that meant so much to us, and that we had worked so hard on. It was an even greater feeling for all of the positive feedback!

Review: Ocean Creatures by Jane N’ The Jungle

Questions 4 –General:

How have you been coping with the current global situation (COVID)? Has it inspired you or helped to create music?

Follow-up: what about gigging live?

What do you think this situation has shown or taught you? (If anything).

Early on in the pandemic we knew that we wanting to keep our music alive. We met every week as a band and would do a livestream for our fans and write music. It was the only thing that felt normal for us to do. Our new EP “Ocean Creatures” was written during the pandemic and at a time we wanted to be organic and experiment with our different versions of rock; Alternative, grunge, hard rock, glam rock and pop rock. We dipped our toes into the genres and now we are working on diving even deeper into our sound.

We recently opened for Sammy Hagar, The Warning and The Dumes at this year’s SXSW and played for a packed house at the Viper Room last month.

Our gigging hasn’t been what it was like before the pandemic but we are working on more upcoming shows.

The pandemic has taught me about patience and to keep working hard for the things that you want.

Questions 5 –General:

What are you expecting for this year? Anything lined up?

What messages, feelings or emotions do you want your music to deliver to your fans and to people?
