Getting to know Metrophobia and the people behind the name…the duo is comprised of…

Their latest single “Crazy” is a dark, moody, pop-rock song that shares the DNA of some of the great bands from the British scene especially…you can find influences from Radiohead and some modernized influences from The Who…Metrophobia really knows how to put their own unique flavor and continue the legacy of the great.

“Crazy” is actually 2 experiences in 1…because you have the song itself…and you have the music video…

The music video is professionally shot and produced, with many different shots with different cameras and angles…some slow-mo shots, some high frame rate shots…some artistic shots and sceneries…all with a sepia-ish filter that covers the whole video and adds to the emotional storytelling side of the song…it is surely an experience by itself…

…of course, all of that comes with the song itself, which in itself is a pop rock song with some dark undertones mixed in with some bright sonic elements…the vocal delivery is that of the storytelling nature, it’s more subdued in favor of telling a story with many elements going on…it’s making the focus more on the music, lyrics and the video…which can be actually described as a short movie in itself.

Armed with heavy bass, energetic tunes, catchy melodies and relatable subject about woman struggling to find a decent man, Metrophobia are ready to go to the next level and we’ll see how they used that right now.

With an engaging energetic riff that’ll get the audience right in the mood “Kryptonite for the Superman” starts, the verse sets a story telling mood with the deep vocal melody and harmonies makes you pay attention to the lyrics. I loved the layering of the guitars and effects at the bridge and chorus gave the song a shift from groovy riffs with heavy bass and drums to bigger dramatic sound specially, when it is connected to the solo after 2nd chorus.

“Kryptonite for the Superman” is super radio friendly. It has a modern alternative rock sound that clearly has strong hard rock roots and that’ll make it appealing to a wide range of audience plus, the lyrics are pretty catchy and mixed with its strong groove I can easily see their fans jumping around singing out loud.
