Leeds-based musical project extraordinaire Moose Wrench has released their EP “Not Dead Yet” made up of 3 singles they released earlier and 3 brand new monumental songs…let’s see how it fares!

As the band cleverly describes themselves…

“Dr. Moose on ranting, keytar, and programming; Mr. Moose on bass and backing vocals, Moose Jr. on drums and pressing play”

…then go on to add that they are not moose actually, which is funny and I love it when good musicians really don’t take themselves very seriously, show confidence really.

They were formed in Las Vegas in 2022…but it’s a bit blurry how they ended up in Leeds…

…and they recorded this EP in Greenmount Studios, Leeds.

The EP starts with quite the bang with its first song “Directionless Twat”…which starts out with a melancholic and mysterious piano playing and a narrator talking about pretty dark stuff…then transforms into quite the headbanging experience with unconventional time signatures, catchy guitar riffs, melodic bass lines that syncs with the drums and lock into an amazing rhythmic groove.

The song really is something else, it’s catchy, unconventional, and filled with fresh melodies.

…and that is an excellent introduction and expectation setter for the album, Moose Wrench is all about being unique, and unconventional and that’s just how they are…and one very important thing too…they are all about surprises.

The theme of musical surprises continues all throughout the EP, “Ginnel Dick” also starts somewhere and goes in a completely different direction, further establishing this sense of surprise and awe.

Moose Wrench really knows how to capture the audience, they have a natural uniqueness to their style and musical charisma…they have the ability to create unique riffs, beats and melodies all wrapped together nicely.

“Not Dead Yet” maintains the surprising and unique approach with all 6 songs in it…it’s quite the experience…and a recommended one at that…make sure to check out this very focused and unique EP as soon as possible.

We wish all the best to Moose Wrench…and we’d like to know what happened in Vegas at some point…or as they say, what happens in Vegas stays in…Leeds?

Cheers!

Unleashing their dad-bod alt-metal sound upon the masses, Moose Wrench dropped their single Not My Name on the 28th of August 2023. Not My Name is the second single off Moose Wrench‘s upcoming record Not Dead Yet, and most certainly it’ll make you mark your calendar for it. Let me tell you more about it.

Moose Wrench‘s fun groovy approach will get you hooked right from Not My Name‘s intro. These guys have an irresistibly fat groovy bass and playful drumming that lead to the song’s extremely catchy sound, forcing the listeners to move and sing along, I bet this one will get a lot of fan engagement when played live. The heavy rocking guitars hit just at the perfect moment, taking the song’s dynamics to the next level and steering its energy towards a heavier and even more upbeat direction with its thick riffs and drum patterns’ change into a faster and more energetic pace. All these twists produced a dynamic catchy structure with surprisingly seamless shifts that made Not My Name‘s progression a smooth, entertaining one.

Not My Name is a solid tune that says a lot about Moose Wrench‘s character and unique sound. These guys are not afraid to mix and experiment with sounds and elements in a special way that I’ve never heard before. Looking forward to more from Moose Wrench, keep on rocking guys. Cheers!

UK-based alternative rock band Moose Wrench released their latest single “Not Dead Yet” like a ball of fire…full of live and energy…it’s heavy, groovy, upbeat and dark, all at the same time…it’s the full experience, tightly wrapped and ready to be unleashed.

The people behind the name and brand of Moose Wrench are…

Keytar, Vocals, Programming – Craig Robertson

Bass – Colin Sutton

Drums – Thom Gardner

Lyrics – Craig Robertson

…so you know you’ll be getting some awesome Keytar solos right here…and you do, along with some of the most charismatic drum lines and bass grooves written in years…

The people at Moose Wrench are amazingly creative, fun and super entertaining to experience…firstly, they don’t take themselves too seriously, secondly, they are extremely versatile and amazingly talented musicians…

“Not Dead Yet” is two-fold of an experience…

The first part is about the music…the song is divided into 2 sections, if you will…the first section is alternative rock with some punk energy mixed in there…which also happens to be where the chorus lives…

The second section is more of a very hard rock, borderline metal verses with some light brutal vocals…

…the second part is the music video…they know how to make the most of what they have for sure, the video is shot in the style of a low-budget home movie…and that might be the most eye-catching element of all…I watched the video several times…it is very, very….very enjoyable and a highly recommended watch for sure

These guys are an absolute blast to experience, their music is awesome while being fun, enjoyable with really good riffs, solos, drum beats and tight bass lines…they share some of the artistic DNA of Twelve Foot Ninja…they are both funny and extremely professional musicians.

I can not wait to see what Moose Wrench does next…it is going to be a blast for sure.

We wish these guys all the best in life, we fell in love with their music instantly.

Cheers!
