Armed with an exceptional vocal gift and the thoroughly nurtured charisma of a natural-born frontman, Ronzoni Hines continues to stir his present fans as well as attracts legions of others with the genre-defying ‘Trance’, his latest single.

Based in Bermingham, England, the midlands youngster is a singer and songwriter with a delightfully individual style, and a clear-cut talent to push it along. Taking a single listen to ‘Trance’ might be enough to establish Hines as a confident performer and a capable vocalist, but it is with repeated listens that it becomes clear just how much charisma Hines is exuding, and how much this charisma is the thing that drives forward the peculiar construct that is ‘Trance’.

Simply put, ‘Trance’ is an anthem. With its empowering 4-on-the-floor beat and repeating minimal riff, played by a distorted electric guitar, Hines composes the majority of his song’s minimalist arrangement. The rest is vocal and guitar ad libs, a short, synth-based bridge, and a few barraging drum fills. The spotlight is left completely for Hines’s spectacularly fresh and exciting vocals. Sung entirely in a challenging high registry, the song’s vocal part is rich with energetic yells and delightfully controlled switches to soulful croons. A vocal part that is to be thoroughly studied, Hines’s vocals effortlessly provide enough propulsion to push this whole short and sweet thing forward.

‘Trance’ is an easy experiment with tried and tested results, needing only boldness and a talent to match, and Hines proves with each line he delivers that he has got those in abundant excess.
