Do you ever feel like your feet have slipped and you have fallen from the bright route you were walking into a dark hole? I believe that most of us have faced this scenario at least once, yet we keep thinking about how to get on the right track and be the better, more developed version of ourselves. With an energetic sound and uplifting performance, Live in Color’ “A Better Me” urges us all to go where our hearts belong and live our lives to the fullest.

Live in Color is a Sweden-based pop/rock act consisting of three brothers, Jesper, Anton, and Linus, along with Tim and Melker. They began their journey together in 2018, released their first album in 2019, and fast forward to 2023, when they kicked off the year with “A Better Me,” and I can’t think of a better way to begin the year than with optimistic sonic bliss and heart and soul performances. Their vibe makes one armed to encounter life’s challenges with hope, determination, a charged spirit, and a wide smile.

“A Better Me” is a musical ecstasy that one should add to their mood-boosting playlist. Light, dazzling acoustic chords open the song, which are soon joined by melodic, dreamy vocals. The shimmering riffs, bouncy drumline, and tight bass are all racing along with the enthusiastic vocal performance, offering a carefree atmosphere. The entire composition is vibrant and colorful, and the quintet’s chemistry and skills are on display in the way that each component works with the others to produce a rich, tasty piece.

The fast pace of the pop/rock fusion suits the theme best, which inspires listeners to sprint in the direction of their goals and the life they’ve always desired. The modern-country hint was the unexpected ingredient that added authenticity. The band surly lives according to their own lyric: “lives my life like there are no boundaries; they don’t stick to genres and don’t limit their ambition; they just go big!”

You might think that the “A Better Me” road should be walked on your own, and you may be right. As there are things in life that need to be faced alone, this fact does not mean that you can’t have a sunny, lighthearted companion like “A Better Me” below to keep you going.

Taking a purely gothic/symphonic approach, PRESSURE are aiming for even a bigger sound on “Sacramental Anger”. Adding more of their signature theatrical sound worked perfectly in favour of their storytelling style, with the help of extremely melodic expressive strong vocals, powerful catchy riffs, and pounding energetic drumming. “Sacramental Anger” has a dynamic structure that keeps on pushing its boundaries further, keeping the listener hooked and focused.

Swedish metalheads Pressure are back with a new story with their latest single “Change Me” via Xing Records. With two albums up their sleeves, the Stockholm-based melodic headbangers hit again with a story about one of our deepest insecurities. Everyone wants to be liked but, shall we show our true colors, or do we have to change in order to be liked?

The very 1st thing that stole my attention in “Change Me” is the guitar work, its dominant well-crafted melodies made it the main character of Pressure’s new story. “Change Me” opens with a shredding guitar melody that sums up a lot of its sound, the guitar lines flow smoothly and freely in an interesting way throughout the whole song controlling its flow and dynamics with a great sense of melody and mood, and backing up the vocal melody touching emotional areas the vocals couldn’t hit. The conversational/storytelling vocals twisted the dynamics and created an interesting setup with bold, upfront delivery completing Pressure’s story metal formula.

“Change Me” tells an interesting story in a theatrical delivery with an extremely melodic heavy metal setup. It shows Pressure’s solid vision, songwriting skills, and clear sound direction. Looking forward to more from Pressure, Keep on rocking guys, cheers!
