Syncopated and with an addictive forward drive, the latest single by The Pulltops is hypnotically anthemic.

The latest release from Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s endlessly creative alternative rock duo The Pulltops, ‘You Tripped Me Up’ is a song that sounds as rich, engaging, and as intricately built as all songs I’ve come across for the duo. Known for their charged arrangements and loud and bold mixes with gritty guitars and full bass, The Pulltops have delivered yet another anthemic cut that is fiercely their own.

A cut that handles the breaking of trust, ‘You Tripped Me Up’ is brash and flamboyant in its liberty with swooshes and oohs, among other sound effects that give the song its effective 80s flair, right alongside the hypnotizing, syncopated beat that gives the song its unusual and imbalanced gait. The courses, however, are perfectly balanced. Melodic, colorful, and glamorous, the chorus to ‘You Tripped Me Up’ is where The Pulltops really focused their dramatic swooshes, oohs, aahs, and woos, in one of this year’s most engaging and fun hooks thus far.

A truly bold piece that balances a quirky, heavy-footed pace in the verses with enigmatic and edgy choruses, pitting them right alongside the song’s confrontational words and approachable vocals sung in the duo’s distinctive style. Mark Pierret’s drums and Tom Crowell’s guitars are -I’m glad to report- as good as they’ve ever been on ‘You Messed Me Up’.

The Milwaukee-based duo, drummer Mark Pierret, and guitarist Tom Crowell, form the dynamic “The Pulltops,” mashing a wide range of musical influences, coming up with their own fiery sound, and creating catchy, empowering anthems like “3-2-1 Go.”

“3-2-1 Go” starts with an upbeat intro that sets the mood for something electrifying. Once the vocals kick in, you’ll feel that you’re ready to put your boots on and run till you reach the peak of your wildest dreams. The song is incredibly suitable for your running playlist, as you imagine yourself as the main character of a top-rated movie.

This uplifting song combines the energy of Alternative Rock and Power Pop to create a powerful sound. The retro synth adds a unique twist and perfectly complements the energetic vocals and the cinematic feel. The motivational lyrics work hand-in-hand with vibrant vocals, bouncy drums, and irresistible guitar riffs to create a positive and empowering atmosphere that will get you pumped up.

“This straight-ahead anthemic track is meant to inspire and get you off your feet and ready to take on the world!” The Pulltops said, and they surely did this effortlessly. Enjoy “3-2-1 Go” below and get ready to “feel the burning fire!”

Energetic, colorful, and beautifully put-together, ‘Here We Are’, the latest single from The Pulltops, is an earworm that keeps on giving throughout its runtime.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based outfit The Pulltops is a duo with a massive sound. On their latest single titled ‘Here We Are’ we find their return to their country rock origins and deliver, with grace, a fantastic representation of that genre. We have always been blown away by The Pulltops’ fantastic production value, especially in their guitar and bass tones, and the richness of the sound they deliver, and on their latest release, we are happy to report that they are taking that tradition and turning it up a notch.

A delightfully tight piece of rock with the unmistakable flair of upbeat, energizing country, ‘Here We Are’ is a driving anthem. Led by intricate, overdriven guitars, an unerring bass and drums groove that is simple enough to be instantly accessible and intricate enough to lend the song a recognizable rhythmic signature with its pauses and variations. Particularly noticeable is the truly fantastic guitar solo that, apart from its heart-warming tones, takes us everywhere from melodic classic rock, to full-on country twang in a sudden and welcome shift.

‘Here We Are’ is a continuation of the reliability that we’ve come to expect from the Milwaukee duo. A wonderful piece of music that is put together with passion and attention to detail, ‘Here We Are’ is just some more good music from The Pulltops.

Pulltops are the fruit of drummer Mark Pierret and guitarist Tom Crowell joining forces. They mashed their varied, different influences, resulting in an endearing, infectious mix of 80’s synth-pop, indie rock, power pop, and hints of other flairs. Their latest release, “With You,” is an emotive number that easily serves as a testament to their musical prowess and captivating sound.

“With You” opens with a bright synth that is soon accompanied by dreamy, mellow vocals that gradually ignite with passion. The smooth storytelling is emotional, and it effortlessly sets an affectionate scene for the listener. The record may have started softly, but just as the guitar riffs and drumline enter the scene, they offer a dynamic ambiance along with the glazing vocal delivery. The harmonizing between the vocals and instrumentation creates an atmospheric sonic landscape that urges one to grab their significant other and dance.

The mesmerizing fusion of both nostalgic and contemporary flairs offers a timeless quality that makes the song sound familiar and fresh at the same time. The entire production is shimmering; it utilizes each element to produce a coherent, euphoric listening experience.

The duo surely has obvious chemistry that no one can deny. Their artistry, passion, and enjoyment are showcased in every note of the song. With the song hitting its finale note, you’ll be on cloud nine, feeling immersed in love, warmth, and sweet melodies, even if you’re not currently in love with someone. Enjoy the colorful vibe and send the song to someone else so they get to enjoy it “with you!”

The anthemic ‘Wide Awake’ is the latest release from the Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based duo The Pulltops. As my second foray into the music of The Pulltops after listening to ‘Stronger’ a couple of months back, and I’m glad to report that the duo is here again to deliver consistently brilliant songwriting, performances, and production. If anything, ‘Wide Awake’ is a step up in the songwriting department, this time utilizing a dynamic groove that totally controls the pace of the song, occasionally applying hard braking in delicious, surprising bars of half-tempo goodness. The riffs, courtesy of the bass, are once again thick, tough, and powerful. With a percussive, overdriven tone, and a pronounced placement in the mix, listening to the interplay between the bass and drums is tasteful enough on its own.

If you want a gauge of how sophisticated this piece of songwriting is, then pay attention to when the guitar plays single note riffs, when it goes to funky strums, and when it goes to an overdriven, saturating arpeggio, and how with each change, a complimenting section of the song ensues. Also pay attention to the haunting lead guitar section with its fulfilling tone full of reverb, overdrive, and heart-throbbing tremolo.

The wonderful ‘Wide Awake’ sounds like a fusion of Joy Division, Oasis, early Tindersticks, and early U2. A truly inspired piece of music from a rocking duo that ought to be on all our rock-loving radars.

The battery lying within every one of us, a smartphone is what you’re resonating with. An everyday contest is controlling your mindset and keeping you awake. It’s what moves you in the first place, moved by the societal contest of which class you linger. A contest at work and who bosses whom, turning away craving social media channels searching for the best caption to acquire fake laughs, and the most drying eyes could give you lying tears. Always a contester for what’s better and what’s more, having no self-reflector to your beliefs.

The Milwaukee alternative rock band “The Pulltops” release a single “Better Life” from their new EP titled “Between The Lines” emphasizing the concept of racing behind the wheels of happiness and the ultimate search for self-satisfaction and peace of mind but at the same time you are faced by the fierce enemies of the current modern life.

“Better Life” begins with a post-modern soft theme accompanied by electro drums and retro disco style combined altogether to embrace the overall concept of the track. Adding a bit of heat with the chorus multiplied the track’s quality and beauty x10 times.

Searching for a “Better Life” requires the self-belief of accomplishing such life, aside from the life we aspire for, there are tracks to enjoy to make life a better place.

‘Stronger’, the latest cut from The Pulltops is a powerful power pop anthem, imbued with cavernous, stadium-sized reverbs, monstrous bass tones, and heroic vocals that match the song’s empowering words.

Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, The Pulltops is a duo whose sound is a fusion of indie rock and power pop. This is how they choose to describe their music, and listening to ‘Stronger’, they are pretty much on the note with that description.

With reverb-infused drums delivered by Mark Pierret, that summon the valiant 80s’ power pop, à la Blondie, The Cars, and Laura Branigan, The Pulltops are addressing our younger selves, weighted down by insecurities, looking past them and at the inner strengths inside each and every one of us. Doing this, the duo reaches high for their most passionate singer selves, and manages in their search to provide a stunning vocal delivery that goes from brooding and pulling lows, to seething, glorious highs on the chorus, which is rich with crisply overdriven rhythm guitars.

With sharp-sounding production that utilizes tasteful, minimal compression, and pristine reverbs, ‘Stronger’ ends up sounding warm and purposeful, just like its words. The Pulltops are a duo that’s got a strong drive to achieve a sound they’re passionate for, and the results are spectacular on ‘Stronger’.
