Velourias, the Dublin-based trio blending alternative rock, post-punk, indie, and hardcore, are back with a single that demands your attention: Taxidermist. With Phil on guitar and vocals, Rob on bass and vocals, and Nick on drums, their dynamic teamwork shines in this release.

The track is a powerful mix of influences, bringing to mind the haunting feel of Joy Division’s Shadow Play and the raw energy of the Holy Bible-era Manic Street Preachers. Taxidermist creates a dark mood and intense vibe, delivering heavy alt-rock in its purest form. The thundering sound is matched by an eerie music video, directed by Miles Davis Murphy, adding a visual edge to the song’s unsettling charm.

Recorded and mixed with care by Velourias and James Kenosha, Taxidermist shows why the trio has received praise from Nialler 9, Hotpress, and The Goo, along with strong airplay on major Irish stations like RTÉ 2FM, Radio Nova, and Today FM.

With an album set to drop in 2025, Velourias are gearing up for a breakout year. Taxidermist is more than just a song; it’s a bold statement, cementing their reputation as one of Ireland’s most exciting alternative rock acts. If this track is any indication, the band’s upcoming material promises to make a big impact on the alt-rock scene!

So, get your headphones ready, peeps – Taxidermist is just the beginning!
