Los Angeles singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Kogen has dropped his latest single, “Not Wastin’ Time,” now streaming everywhere. The track follows the momentum of his recent releases Comfort in the Pain and Life of the Party (of one), and once again showcases his knack for weaving heartfelt storytelling with genre-defying indie soundscapes touched by the smooth polish of Yacht Rock.

Kogen’s musical roots trace back to his teenage years, when his classical piano background evolved into a fascination with pop and experimentation across genres. Over the years, he’s performed in ensembles spanning rock, jazz, and salsa, and in 2019, he won the National YoungArts competition before seeing his music featured on television and performed at the Kennedy Center. His wide-ranging influences fuel a catalog that refuses to sit neatly in one lane.
After earning a degree in International Relations from Stanford, Kogen recommitted to music full-time, balancing his solo work with writing for film and collaborations with other artists. With “Not Wastin’ Time,” he channels both introspection and ambition, offering a song that feels deeply personal yet universally resonant, further establishing him as one of LA’s most versatile new voices.
