UNITED STATES — Veteran bilingual singer-songwriter, producer, and artist ERICKOSCAR shares a deeply personal chapter of his musical journey with the standout track “Borrowed Peace”. Featured on his country-Americana album Two Flags, One Heart, the song blends authentic acoustic storytelling with hard-won wisdom, examining the complex cycles of addiction and the illusion of temporary relief.

“Borrowed Peace” was written as a powerful reflection inspired by ERICKOSCAR‘s late father, whose struggle with alcoholism impacted his mother, siblings, and himself negatively for decades. Acknowledging how difficult addiction is to break—and how the legality of alcohol allows millions to consume it—the track captures how substances can help people escape their troubles momentarily, offering what the artist describes as “Borrowed Peace for a really short time.” Growing up with a father who was a singer and exposed him to classic love songs and ballads during his childhood, ERICKOSCAR channels that deep melodic tradition into a raw, unfiltered narrative.
With a musical foundation built on more than thirty years of playing acoustic guitar, ERICKOSCAR brings a rich cross-cultural perspective to his craft. Born in Panamá, he has lived in the United States for 34 years as an American citizen and spent time working across nearly every country in Latin America.
Expanding his artistic reach, ERICKOSCAR recently mastered music production software, allowing him to select styles, tempos, vocals, instruments, and arrangements as a hands-on amateur producer. Across his robust seven-album catalog, he writes all of his own lyrics, building the music around them to ensure every song carries genuine substance.
“Music connects with our souls in a way that nothing else does,” reflects ERICKOSCAR, whose work aims to touch hearts and inspire listeners.
