Filled with fury, breaking strings not sweat, Repeat a band from Stockholm, Sweden has done it again.  They released a steaming new single called “Nothing New”, turning all their rage into an explosive, defiant, and unapologetic track.

The band consists of Torbjörn Hallberg, both guitarist and vocalist, Johan Holmberg on drums, and Mattias Belin on bass. The talented trio forms a force not to be reckoned with; they create blistering, bold, and aggressive music.

In today’s world, catching up with the news is a frustrating activity, to say the least, and Repeat is as fed up with how the world is heading as we are. Their new single expresses the anger, rage, and frustration that we all are feeling from all the repeated issues, useless bureaucracy, and nonsense that is being broadcast daily. Whether news, politics or music, everything seems repeated and recycled.

They channeled all this anger into their song, and you can clearly sense it in their gritty guitar chords, the jarring clashing sounds, and their raw, unpolished tunes that created this electrifying track.

The song starts furiously with the lyrics sounding like an anthem: “Painting a picture / Selling us lies now / But we say that this is Nothing New.” The lyrics are expressive and straightforward, matching the music and skipping all the nonsense. It is a direct and clear statement.

Repeat has described the song as that feeling when everything starts to sound like recycled noise – politics, media, even music. “Nothing New’ is our way of breaking free. Angry but honest. We didn’t want to overthink it – just hit record and let it out.”  It is clear with the raw and aggressive energy packed into the track.

The song is a glimpse of what to expect from their upcoming EP “Celebrate” which will be released this September. Riled up after listening to “Nothing New”, I can hardly  wait for the EP to drop.
