With a fiery mix of southern soul, heartfelt lyricism, and unapologetic storytelling, Amanda Page Cornett has carved out her place as a rising force in the country-rock world. Her latest single, “Hearts On A String”, not only showcases her raw vocal power but also highlights her ability to connect deeply with listeners through emotion-packed songwriting. Blending honesty with energy, Amanda continues to captivate audiences across stages, airwaves, and streaming platforms. Today, we sit down with her to talk about her latest release, musical journey, and what’s next on her horizon.

  • “Hearts On A String” is such a heartfelt and powerful single. Can you tell us the story behind the song and what inspired it?

“Hearts On A String” is a song about recognizing past hurts/ baggage, acknowledging it, and ultimately letting it go!

So many of us carry hurts from previous relationships with us into new relationships. That baggage, or in the song “charms on a chain”, becomes an anchor weighing you down, if you don’t face it and let it go! It’s a freedom song.

  • Your vocal delivery in this track is both soulful and vulnerable. How did you approach capturing the emotion in the studio?

I’m really big on making sure each song has realistic emotion! Before going into the studio, I went through each song and wrote notes down to help me get into the feel of each tune.  Most people have experienced hurt and loss and, for a bit at least, let it weigh them down. Those memories are easy to remember, but also the freedom of letting them go is pretty powerful, too, so we worked to capture that emotion!

  • The song blends elements of country, rock, and Americana. Was this a conscious direction for you musically, or did it evolve naturally?

My sound as a whole has evolved into what my band, the Almost Angels, and I call Southern Rock n Soul. So, the entire “Front Porch Rebel” has elements of country, rock, soul, and blues. We intentionally wanted to capture that unique mixture!

  • What do you hope fans feel or take away after listening to “Hearts On A String”?

Hopefully it reminds listeners that everyone has hurts from the past and they have a choice to hold on to it or learn from it and move on!

One of the best parts of music is hearing a song and knowing something you feel has been felt by others as well! You’re not alone!

  • You’ve built a strong community across social media and live performances. How has fan feedback shaped the way you write or release music?

Playing songs out live gives you a good idea of how songs are received. Sometimes, audiences surprise us by grabbing onto songs we thought they wouldn’t. That is always a great reminder that it’s not about us, but how the song is heard and understood.

We also asked fans to give us feedback on our top 20 songs to help us whittle our list down before recording.

  • Looking back at your career so far, how do you feel your sound has grown or shifted since your earlier releases?

While I’ve always leaned into country rock, the Almost Angels and I really found our sound melding country, Southern Rock and blues. We have played together a long time and our sound just kinda settled there. We love it!

  • Who are some of your biggest influences that continue to inspire your songwriting and performances today?

I always loved the rebels of music; artists who played what they loved and said what they wanted, even if it wasn’t the norm. I grew up loving Tanya Tucker, Hank Williams Jr, The Judds, Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker band etc. As my musical exposure expanded, I added artists like Janis Joplin, Tom Petty, Pink, Etta James, Allman Brothers, and so many more in lots of genres!

Performance wise, I aim to be an entertainer! I love watching performers, not just singers! I saw Garth Brooks early on and latched on to his high energy and ability to relay the emotion of each song. Entertainers can make you rock out and captivate you with slow songs. That is the ultimate goal!

  • You’ve played countless live shows. What’s your favorite memory on stage that you feel truly captures who you are as an artist?

There are so many, but we had a guest drummer play with us in South Carolina for a gig…Artimus Pyle of Lynyrd Skynyrd. That was pretty freaking cool!

  • Many artists talk about music as a form of healing. Has writing or performing “Hearts On A String” been therapeutic for you in any way?

Writing is very often therapeutic! “Hearts On A String” will always serve as a reminder to not hold on to hurts!

  • Outside of music, what are some passions or hobbies that fuel your creativity and keep you grounded?

I’m very active, so I love hiking, boating, anything outside, especially with my dogs!  Creativily, I really enjoy wood working, building things, and making feather earrings.

The most grounding activity I do is participating annually in a week long construction ministry, where my teammates and I work to make homes warm, safe, and dry. That kind of service work really is so special! The friendships and relationships and learning from the homeowners is invaluable!

  • How do you balance authenticity in your music while also navigating the commercial side of the industry?

I had many artists and writers tell me they didn’t have success until they started being themselves. There is a lot of noise to be one way or another, but I really value making music my band and I love! If people love it commercially, that’s a major perk!

  • Collaboration is such a big part of today’s music scene. Are there any artists you’d love to collaborate with in the near future?

I would love to write with and perform with Pink! I have so much respect for her writing and execution of her songs! So, putting it out there …haha.

  • With “Hearts On A String” out now, what can fans expect next — maybe an album, tour dates, or new projects on the horizon?

We recently finished mastering a new six song project, so new releases and tour dates are in the works! We hope to get the first new single out before 2026!

  • In such a fast-paced digital AI world, how do you see the future of the music industry in general, and indie artists in particular?

Many are worried about AI taking over, and there will be an element of that, but I believe AI fatigue will always bring listeners back to human written tunes! I don’t think AI will ever fully replace real artists!

  • Finally, if you could sum up where Amanda Page Cornett is heading in one sentence, what would it be?

The band and I will be bringing unique Southern Rock n Soul to the world and have so much fun doing so! Thank you!!!!!

Amanda Page Cornett’s journey is a testament to passion, resilience, and the power of staying true to one’s voice. With “Hearts On A String”, she not only delivers a track that resonates emotionally but also reminds us why authentic music still matters in today’s fast-paced world. As she continues to grow her sound and expand her reach, one thing is certain: Amanda’s music will keep pulling at our hearts, one string at a time.
