Polish metalcore project RMNSKI dropped “Ashes” last month, featuring Kuwait-based vocalist ABZY. The track sits somewhere between Architects and Northlane territory, blending aggressive riffs with atmospheric tension and melodic breaks. Mixed by Jack Byrne and mastered by Arran Dutt, with drums handled by RJTEMPO, the production quality is pretty great here. Thematically, “Ashes” tackles humanity’s self-destruction while holding onto a thread of hope, making it both a warning and a rallying cry.

The riffing on this song is super tight and aggressive, and with the added benefit of polished production, the power of the music hits hard. Breaking up the sections of tight riffs are these melodic sections with key changes that are definitely inspired by the most popular progressive metalcore band, Periphery. You can definitely identify lots of similarities and yet recognize the unique artistic voice the song adheres to. Speaking of voices, the vocal performance here is nothing short of outstanding, with a great mix between distorted and clean vocals. Delivering the severity of the song’s themes with conviction and confidence.

“Ashes” delivers what it promises. RMNSKI managed to carve out space in a crowded metalcore scene by leaning into emotional intensity without losing the heaviness. The collaboration with ABZY works; the production team clearly knew what they were doing, and the Periphery influence is worn openly without becoming a copy. If you’re drawn to metalcore that balances crushing weight with melodic breathing room, this hits the mark.
