Live in Color is a Sweden-based pop/rock act consisting of three brothers, Jesper, Anton, and Linus, along with Tim and Melker. They began their journey together in 2018, released their first album in 2019, and fast forward to 2023, when they kicked off the year with “A Better Me,” and I can’t think of a better way to begin the year than with optimistic sonic bliss and heart and soul performances. Their vibe makes one armed to encounter life’s challenges with hope, determination, a charged spirit, and a wide smile.

“A Better Me” is a musical ecstasy that one should add to their mood-boosting playlist. Light, dazzling acoustic chords open the song, which are soon joined by melodic, dreamy vocals. The shimmering riffs, bouncy drumline, and tight bass are all racing along with the enthusiastic vocal performance, offering a carefree atmosphere. The entire composition is vibrant and colorful, and the quintet’s chemistry and skills are on display in the way that each component works with the others to produce a rich, tasty piece.

The fast pace of the pop/rock fusion suits the theme best, which inspires listeners to sprint in the direction of their goals and the life they’ve always desired. The modern-country hint was the unexpected ingredient that added authenticity. The band surly lives according to their own lyric: “lives my life like there are no boundaries; they don’t stick to genres and don’t limit their ambition; they just go big!”

You might think that the “A Better Me” road should be walked on your own, and you may be right. As there are things in life that need to be faced alone, this fact does not mean that you can’t have a sunny, lighthearted companion like “A Better Me” below to keep you going.
