Animal is a bittersweet journey in collaboration with Bart Tropher (vocals), Fransisco Paz (drums/percussions), Luca Giannotti (guitar/bass), and Kimberly Faith (harmonies) that you don’t want to miss. Backstrom takes a different approach to his 2nd single Animal as he opens with melancholic cello and dark vocal melody with deeply touching harmonies, creating an emotional setup that totally fits its pace. Animal has a slowly cooked progression that builds up softly mixing atmospheric cellos with echoing guitars and perfect vocal harmonies, introducing a heart-hitting sound that hits the listeners deeply emotionally creating a special bond between them and Backstrom. Backstrom cleverly handled Animal’s arrangement and layering, offering a multi-layered experience with clear production and diverse elements that seamlessly complete each other offering different tastes and feelings using his top-notch writing skills.
Animal is another well-written and arranged tune by Backstrom that shows a different side of his writing, giving the audience a taste of what to expect from his upcoming record and the diverse elements within it. It has a purely melodic flow with an authentic mood that naturally flows throughout its composition, making this one of the most balanced and heartfelt pieces I’ve listened to in a while.
