Based in Swindon, UK, Atari Pilot are a four-piece indie rock band who have showcased a nonstop momentum and a unique sprinkle of nostalgia in their songwriting. Comprised of Onze on vocals, Paj on bass, Andy on drums and Frosty on guitar, the band have released a slew of singles since 2020, extending their influences with each release.

In a project that brings together all of their single releases from the last two years in a cohesive narrative, their new album ‘It’s the journey you can’t live without’ carries a life-affirming message. Arranged with soaring guitar melodies, twinkling synths, pounding drums and lyricism that is heartfelt and vulnerable, the project is a glorious showcase of everything the band brings to the table.

Atari Pilot sharing, “It’s 11 Songs about loss, connection, disconnection, acceptance, sorrow, hope, love, strength, vulnerability and everything in between.

Most of all this album is about learning to be your own biggest supporter and trying to embrace a life where every moment that led you here is a moment you wouldn’t change.

Finally, it’s a thank you to every person who’s ever supported us whether it was in the best of times or the hardest of times. The journey is always sweeter when you’re not alone and it’s the journey you can’t live without.”

‘Songs for the struggle’ is the final single for the album, closing the project with a track of cinematic scale. Opening with a rich piano arpeggio and warming vocal, the track slowly grows, introducing the instrumentation that we’ve become accustomed to across the eleven tracks. A final statement of encouragement, it’s an elegant ending that leaves an inspired feeling in the listener.

They add, “This is one of those songs that has gone through many versions but this version it finally felt right. It’s all about the power of songs and music to be there for you in your darkest/saddest moments. I can still remember vividly the songs i listened to that got me through those long nights in hospital lying awake, wondering if i’d make it.””
