New York’s high-octane glam-punk quartet Bad Mary is bringing their explosive live energy straight to their audience with the release of their first-ever live album, Live on Long Island, arriving July 15. The raucous 16-track collection will be accompanied by individual live videos for every song — plus a full concert film capturing the entire performance experience. “We’ve always wanted to do a live album,” says bassist Mike Staub. “We write our music first and foremost to be performed live. We want to have a good time playing, and we want to perform songs that are equally fun for the audience. We’re all in the show together.”
Recorded at Industry in Huntington, NY during their EP release show with friends Mega Infinity, the band knew it was the perfect time to capture their live sound. “The sound, the vibes, the audiences are always terrific,” says Staub. “We figured it was our best opportunity to finally make a full live record.”
Live on Long Island spans Bad Mary’s full catalog — including tracks from Killing Dinosaurs, Glitter Bomb, Trash & Glamour, Mega Bad Disaster Party, and more — and features their cover of Queen’s “Tie Your Mother Down.”
“We wanted to pick a setlist that hit all the highs of the past 12/13 years,” Staub adds. “These 16 songs represent our journey, from our first album to our newest originals — with all the live energy and crowd reactions we thrive on.”
With audio pulled straight from the board and a trio of videographers capturing the show, guitarist David Henderson led the creation of live videos for each song as well as a complete concert film. “We wanted to include all the bits — the jokes, the stage banter — everything that makes our shows feel personal,” says Staub. “David did an incredible amount of work and created something that’s uniquely us in every way.”
Bad Mary — Amanda Mac (vocals), Mike Staub (bass), Bill Mac (drums), and David Henderson (guitar) — has built a devoted following across the U.S. and beyond, earning airplay and accolades on SiriusXM’s Underground Garage, where their tracks have been named “Coolest Song in the World.”
In addition to the live album and video series, Bad Mary recently launched their podcast Are You With The Band?, and are currently working on a brand-new studio release.
