In the midst of the chaotic world we live in today, I believe that powerful messages do not need to be aggressive or loud. At times, gentle messages resonate the most. Wendy DuMond returns with her project, Bog Witch, and conveys a compelling message through her latest single, “Meet Me.” Let’s delve deeper into this below.

Musically, she truly requires no guidance. If you’ve had the opportunity to read my earlier articles on her singles “Girl in the Box” and “Seasick,” you’ll understand how she stands out with her authentic sound. In my opinion, “Meet Me” offers listeners a fresh perspective on Wendy’s musical style. Her angelic and emotive vocals immediately captivated me. Furthermore, the ambient atmosphere is an excellent choice for this arrangement. I particularly enjoyed the guitar work here; the song features DuMond on electric guitar, synths, and bass, which I think is a fantastic decision. His guitar tone is one of my favorites and evokes memories of many classic hits from the golden era, significantly enhancing the song’s brilliance. Additionally, we must acknowledge Mike Gruwell for his tight percussive lines, which helped present the track’s core and chemistry effectively.

The lyrics convey a powerful message regarding the ongoing global crisis and serve as a plea for peace. “This isn’t about politics for me,” DuMond expresses. “It’s about love — the kind of love that remains significant when everything else fades away.”

Wendy DuMond and her project, Bog Witch, will always hold a special place in my heart, and I truly believe that they will soon become one of the most iconic names in the contemporary music scene. Cheers to that!
