Melbourne-born Australian rock musician Ivan Beecroft has gained popularity for his unique blend of rock and alternative rock music. His latest album, “Liberty or Die (2022),” showcases his ability to blend conventional and alternative rock genres with intensity.

Beecroft’s music captures human emotions and experiences through evocative lyrics and passionate performances. His 2020 album, “The Cynical Express,” achieved the top spot in Canada’s iTunes top ten, introducing the new genre of “Cynical Rock.”

His upcoming single, “Carousel,” will feature alt/rock influences from Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, and classic rock bands…we got a chance to check it out, and let me tell you…it’s one to watch out for.

“Carousel” was written and recorded in Melbourne during the controversial lockdowns.

It was inspired by George Orwell’s 1984, with lyrics that express indignant defiance and prophetic qualities…with one huge notable incident where a woman in Werribee set fire to herself in desperation.

“Carousel” serves as a historical documentation of Melburnians’ feelings during this period, evoking emotional responses and difficult-to-put into words.

The song also drops with a music video, a politically charged one that starts with the words “WARNING, ALERT, STANDBY”…featuring real-life shots, cartoon animations, CGI, movie scenes, and insightful capitalistic imagery…it’s a thought-provoking visual experience…

…on the musical and lyrical side…the lyrics are as politically charged as the imagery…while the music also has a lot of power, as if its standing in the face of oppression, with powerful guitar riffs, licks, and melodies, excellent rock breakdowns and a powerful vocal performance.

Ivan takes a 90s rock approach and succeeds with flying colors to capture the perfect essence.

Wishing the brilliant artist all the best and can’t wait to hear what he creates next.

Cheers!
