Archangel is the solo project of Polish singer-songwriter, musician, and music producer Michael Kordek. His latest release, “From Hell to Heaven,” debuted last December, showcasing an impressive extreme metal sound. Let’s explore more details below!

If you’ve been a rocker and metal enthusiast for over two decades like me, you’ve likely had the opportunity to explore legendary Polish bands such as Vader, Behemoth, Graveland, and Hate, among many others. What sets this music apart is not just the sound, but also the captivating stories behind it. I believe that Archangel serves as an inspiring tale for any artist navigating their musical journey while grappling with everyday life challenges that can hinder their creative path. From the age of eight until he was thirty-two, he encountered numerous obstacles in his musical career, yet he remained steadfast in his determination and vision for his project, Archangel. “The Archangel project is my solo project that brings together my life experiences, determination, strength and ideology. Every day I try to develop in this direction, I am learning a foreign language, working on instrumental crafts and recently started attending voice classes.” – explained Michael “Archangel” Kordek.

blankMusically, I was captivated by his unrefined, powerful vocal style, which takes me back to the golden era of legendary death metal bands from the late 80s and early 90s. The lead guitar also stood out to me, delivering a beautiful melody amidst the intense riffs, creating a truly impressive blend.

Lyrically, the subject matter is striking as it raises crucial awareness for individuals who are contemplating or have already attempted suicide. The artist emphasizes, “The motivation for this piece is the scale of suicides committed in the world and especially in my country. Even in these advanced times, other children, sometimes even teachers, bully and tease children at school. It happens that poverty and misery affect people for various random reasons. Instead of teaching them to support their children, parents become increasingly demanding and build their egos at the expense of other people’s dignity. I was once on that side and I feel both the duty and the strength to help every creature that needs it to survive at every moment. The economic situation in my country is deteriorating. I would very much like music to become a strong psychological support for everyone who needs it and a social movement that can stop it.”

At last, I haven’t had the chance to listen to new extreme music since the start of the month, and I’m thrilled to have discovered Archangel‘s single, From Hell to Heaven. Now, it’s time to prepare for some serious headbanging… Enjoy!
