Prague-based singer/songwriter George Collins dropped his brand new single, “New Way” on March 21st, marking the first release from his upcoming 14-track album, New Ways of Getting Old.

“New Way” is a timely, gritty, high-energy rocker that combines classic rock, pop, and soul influences with a modern edge. The  riff-driven, horn inflected track tackles the chaos of today’s world head-on with a driving rhythm and intensity, exploring the tension between the dark times we face and the optimism that change is possible.

As Bob Dylan famously says, “They say the darkest hour is right before the dawn” – a sentiment that Collins embodies in this empowering, uplifting song.

“New Way” is just the beginning. The single is part of Collins’s ambitious new album, New Ways of Getting Old, which continues his journey as a songwriter and performer. With this ambitious and personal project, he will release a single every eight weeks for the next two years.

The tune draws its musical influences from the creative range of Bruce Springsteen’s “The Rising,” The White Stripes rocker “Seven Nation Army,” and Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” with a touch of The Rolling Stones and Elvis Costello thrown in for good measure.

The title is indirectly inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s classic dystopian film A Clockwork Orange and its iconic line, “It’s part of the new way.”

New Ways of Getting Old promises a rich variety of musical styles, with each track a testament to the enduring power of creativity and reinvention.

George Collins is a Prague-based singer/songwriter whose music speaks to the second act of life with sharp wit, emotional depth, and irresistibly catchy hooks. After decades in a high-powered career in international finance, Collins returned to his first love – music  – surprising everyone who knew him only as a buttoned-up executive. What began as an impromptu Fourth of July performance at a friend’s bar several years ago reignited a creative fire that has resulted in a critically acclaimed debut EP (It’s Been a Long Time), the fan-favorite Songs for Grown-ups, and now a full-length follow-up: New Ways of Getting Old.

Drawing comparisons to artists like Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, Collins combines classic rock, soul, and pop with literate, insightful lyrics into a unique blend he calls “Timeless Americana Rock”. His songs explore themes of aging, longing, love, parenting, and personal reinvention – with humor and heart. A former guitarist in a band with future Dave Matthews Band members Carter Beauford and LeRoi Moore, Collins now headlines venues across Prague and connects with an ever-growing global fanbase.

He’s not chasing fame – he’s chasing meaning, and it shows. With more than one million Spotify streams and over three million YouTube views, and a catalog that’s as thoughtful as it is hooky, George Collins proves it’s never too late to return to what moves you.

Prepare to be moved, uplifted, and inspired.
