Absolutely, talent is a crucial component for any musician; however, when combined with ample experience, it elevates their mastery to an entirely new level. Lauren Passarelli is one of those music masters, and today I will spotlight her single “Hearts & Words” from her forthcoming album, Big Blue Machine, scheduled for release in August. Let’s explore this further below.
Lauren Passarelli is a master guitarist and songwriter who has been teaching at the prestigious Berklee College of Music since 1984. She is known as a talented Performing Songwriter, Beatles expert, and multi-instrumentalist known for her engaging workshops and concerts across New England. She has hundreds of videos on YouTube and offers CDs and digital downloads of her music. Recognized as the music world’s “wonder woman,” Lauren has a diverse career as a songwriter, performer, producer, and recording engineer. She joined Berklee College of Music’s Guitar Department at just 24 and has released music both solo and with the band Two Tru, alongside arranger Cindy Brown. In addition, Lauren has collaborated and recorded with Sarah Burrill, Ruth Mendelson, Kate Chadbourne, Crave, Thaddeus Hogarth, Jane Miller, and Mike Bishop, in their albums and/or audiobooks.
As I previously mentioned, listening to an experienced musician can be enlightening. In this case, I’m excited to share her impressive biography with you. When you hear her single “Hearts & Words,” you will be captivated by the combination of her beautiful, emotive vocals and the music itself. As we experience the work of a master guitarist, the marvelous guitar arrangement truly stands out. I genuinely mean it when I say that it has been a long time since I encountered such skillfully crafted guitar lines.
Despite her extensive experience, I appreciated how Lauren chose to keep the music “short and simple.” This is a quality that many newcomers often overlook, as they tend to complicate their music in an effort to prove themselves. However, Lauren’s commitment to simplicity is undeniably iconic.
I now understand why Charles Howard, the mastering engineer, stated that she has truly mastered the art of music. He explained, “Big Blue Machine is perfectly orchestrated. Lauren Passarelli has mastered the art of music because she is music!” I’m marking my calendar for August 1st, as I believe her album will be unlike anything I’ve ever heard. Cheers to that!
