Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based outfit The Pulltops is a duo with a massive sound. On their latest single titled ‘Here We Are’ we find their return to their country rock origins and deliver, with grace, a fantastic representation of that genre. We have always been blown away by The Pulltops’ fantastic production value, especially in their guitar and bass tones, and the richness of the sound they deliver, and on their latest release, we are happy to report that they are taking that tradition and turning it up a notch.
A delightfully tight piece of rock with the unmistakable flair of upbeat, energizing country, ‘Here We Are’ is a driving anthem. Led by intricate, overdriven guitars, an unerring bass and drums groove that is simple enough to be instantly accessible and intricate enough to lend the song a recognizable rhythmic signature with its pauses and variations. Particularly noticeable is the truly fantastic guitar solo that, apart from its heart-warming tones, takes us everywhere from melodic classic rock, to full-on country twang in a sudden and welcome shift.
