I recall that last month, I had the fortune to listen to Awaiting Abigail‘s single “Bad Mind,” which I felt was ushering in a new dimension of rock by blending the classic and contemporary styles. Today, we have another release titled “I Hate You.” Let’s see if they maintain that same groove!

ICOINC RIFS AND STRUCTURE! It’s uncommon for me to start my write-up this way, but I absolutely love the guitar riffs and the brilliant interplay between the bass and drums. EPIC! To top it off, Abigail Hill’s powerful and emotive vocals truly elevate the experience.

The chorus in this piece is my favorite of 2025 thus far. I really enjoy the heavy grooves and the 6/4 halftime breakdown. As I noted in my earlier review, the harmony among the band members is impressive, and I truly appreciate how cohesive it sounds. This level of harmony is something that many newcomers often struggle to achieve.

Though the solo may be brief, I absolutely loved its tone and believe it perfectly captures the essence of the track. With raw lyrics, dynamic grooves, and explosive instrumentation, “I HATE YOU” by Awaiting Abigail transcends the typical rock song—it’s a cathartic outlet for those weary of fake and toxic individuals. The song conveys a powerful message of strength, resilience, and ultimately triumphing over the negativity that others attempt to impose.

The track’s energy is infectious, drawing listeners in with its relentless tempo and emotional depth. Fans of rock will find solace in the fearless expression and the unapologetic attitude that Abigail Hill and her band bring to the table. It’s a testament to the power of music to articulate what words alone sometimes cannot. As the final notes fade, one can’t help but feel empowered and inspired, ready to face whatever challenges may come with newfound resilience and confidence.
