I believe that during challenging times, we often receive our most brilliant ideas. I’ve experienced this firsthand, and I can say that Things Change felt similarly, conveying this sentiment through their single, “Juicy Boom.”
From a musical standpoint, I was captivated by the build-up of this track. The emotive vocals deliver a strong impact on every listener, while the guitars are both tight and catchy. I appreciated how the music ascends, creating a well-structured and engaging song. When the drums kick in during the chorus, it invites you to sing along and revel in this fantastic rock tune. Honestly, it’s been quite some time since I encountered something like this.
Lyrically, as I mentioned earlier, the song explores challenging times and how we find inspiration during those periods, especially when something positive occurs that elevates us to a better place. As the band expressed, “I lay sick in bed with a dry throat after a feverish night. The unimaginable craving for a juicy orange gave me the strength to endure another night, during which I woke up with this song in my head. The next morning, my wish was fulfilled by a fresh citrus fruit on my lips. After a few days of recovery, I sat down in the studio and… Tada, there it was.”
