Anglo-Greek rock-pop artist D3LTA broke through with “Strange” topping charts in Greece, and he’s been building ever since. Working with producers like Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele) and Max Wolfgang (Laufey, BLACKPINK), he’s racked up over a million Spotify streams and toured with Scouting for Girls and JC Stewart. “Kids” is one of those songs that doesn’t let you look away, a meditation on growing up watching endless tragedy scroll past like background noise while we tell ourselves the kids will be alright.

Lyrically, D3LTA speaks to the cognitive dissonance we experience on a daily basis in the modern age, living in a pretty plastic world that is deeply rotten at its core, with tragedies occurring at every moment, with kids as the unequivocal most impacted party of this, but we have to lie to ourselves or maybe hope that they will be alright.

Musically, the vocals remind me of David Bowie’s powerful delivery, while the harmony sounds like a Radiohead song. The song features a dynamic drum performance that serves as its core and driving force. The guitar parts are sparse but perfect for what the song needs; they let the vocals breathe and take the frontlines.

“Kids” doesn’t offer easy answers, and that’s what makes it work. With follow-up singles “Animals” and “Mad About It” coming, plus a debut album on the way, D3LTA‘s proving he’s got something to say and isn’t afraid to say it.
