San Francisco artist Michellar releases her new original single “Can’t get you out of my mind,” a hypnotic journey through psychedelic soundscapes that explores obsession, desire, and the thoughts left unspoken.
Drawing from a teenage immersion in the sounds of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and The Doors, Michellar channels raw emotion and vintage psychedelia into sensual escapism. The track marks the first release from her upcoming full psychedelic album, planned for Spring 2027.
Michellar (Michelle Bond) wrote the lyrics and melody. She collaborated with Nashville-based producer Michael Beckheart, a fellow psychedelia enthusiast she met through a fellow songwriter. Demos and vocals were recorded in San Francisco; instrumentals, mixing, and mastering were completed in Nashville. After several arrangement edits in search of the perfect psychedelic feel, both artists are proud of the final mix.

“I have had obsessions in tragic ways… I can’t control them at times,” Michellar shares. “I tend not to say them out loud, but in a way they needed to get expressed.” Reflecting on the collaboration, she adds: “Curiosity kills the cat. I think we both killed it on this song.”
The single stands out for how closely it aligns with Michellar’s visual and artistic identity. Growing up surrounded by classic rock and psychedelic records, she found that creating this track satisfied a deep need for sensual escapism while giving voice to internal experiences that had long remained private.
Michellar began writing songs at age 15, then stepped away for nearly 40 years. Her craft was reignited in 2023 after acceptance into the de Young Museum Open Call Exhibition, a confidence boost that led her to write extensively and release 22 singles in just nine months. “Can’t get you out of my mind” continues that prolific creative surge.
No live performances are currently scheduled. The single is available now on all major streaming platforms.
