A melodic power rock anthem, Ludwig Jonsson’s latest single ‘Not Giving In’ is a tightly packed and punchy new release that left us energized and ready for more from the talented Swede.

Ludwig Jonsson is a singer and songwriter hailing from Jonkoping, Sweden. His DIY approach, featuring hands-on involvement in every stage of his craft, sees him taking complete control of writing his songs, recording, and producing them in his home studio. The resulting sound, witnessed on ‘Not Giving In’, is as crisp and as gripping as songs executed in million-dollar production houses with world class producers. Truly, ‘Not Giving In’ is a beautifully fulfilling, and fulfilled, sounding song.

With a simplistic approach to the arrangement, it is easy to see that Jonsson was going for little more than catchy hooks and beautiful melodies. A simple but efficient piece of songwriting, ‘Not Giving In’ started life as a punk-based political protest song of sorts then shifted into the tight rock mayhem we have on our hands. The massive instrumental lines, massive, distorted guitar riffs, thunderous drum sounds, and killer bass tones, all create a sense of urgency and add to the size and the scale of the otherwise minimal ensemble. A rock song in all senses that can trace its roots back to Bullet for My Valentine and maybe even further back to Bon Jovi and similar 80s rock acts.

A crisply performed and masterfully produced track by the talented and multi-faceted Ludwig Jonsson.
