The German rock band Coma Beach is undoubtedly one of my favourite rock acts to listen to. Today, I want to share my reflections on their latest EP, Passion/Bliss. This music has a unique ability to transform your feelings of rage, chaos, pain, and isolation into a new perspective. Let’s explore this further to uncover more insights.

Similar to their earlier releases, their latest 5-track EP, Passion/Bliss, stands out from any other rock album I’ve encountered recently. It features raw, powerful vocals, melodic guitar riffs with a remarkable old-school flair, and a solid rhythm created by the bass and drums. All of these elements come together to form an extraordinary atmospheric musical experience.

Their sound is a rich tapestry that pays homage to the legends of rock and metal while forging its own path. Each track on “Passion/Bliss” captures the essence of what makes Coma Beach stand out: a seamless blend of intensity and melody, of introspection and raw energy.

Listening to their music feels like embarking on a journey through the highs and lows of human emotion, where each note and lyric is carefully crafted to resonate deeply with the listener. The EP is not just a collection of songs; it’s a testament to the band’s evolution and their ability to connect with fans on a profound level.

Coma Beach has a knack for creating anthems that not only make you want to headbang but also make you think and feel. Their music has the power to transport you to a place where you’re free to explore your own passions and bliss, making this EP a fitting tribute to their storied career and a promising glimpse into what the future might hold for these rock trailblazers.

“Passion/Bliss” (2025) marks the third and final installment in Coma Beach’s “Scapegoat Revisited” EP trilogy, commemorating the 30th anniversary of our debut album, “The Scapegoat’s Agony” (1995). When discussing German bands, we can’t overlook legendary names from Germany such as Scorpions, Rammstein, Sodom, Accept, and Blind Guardian, among many others. Their melodic lead guitars often evoke a distinctive German folk atmosphere. Since discovering this incredible band two years ago, I’ve noticed they possess unique characteristics that blend influences from German, English, and American heavy metal. Just think of a band with such remarkable diversity – it’s truly impressive, isn’t it?

While I typically prefer not to discuss each track individually when reviewing albums or EPs, allowing the listener to explore on their own, I must acknowledge that all five tracks here display remarkable punk, alternative, rock, and heavy metal influences. The songs that truly caught my attention were “Passion” and “Bliss.” Coma Beach is definitely a band I eagerly anticipate for their future releases. Cheers to an iconic rock group!
