There’s absolutely nothing to make you not think ‘Sweet Temptation’ is just a product of 1988 Aerosmith. Tush are incredibly loyal to their true colors, and are astoundingly convincing in displaying them. Even some 30-40 years later, Tush makes glam and funk rock from the late 80s sound fresh, exciting, and as good as new.

A band based in Halmsted, Sweden, Tush continue to carry their influences on their sleeves with their third single, titled ‘Sweet Temptation’. The 5-piece band is stunningly tight on this song. The drum part is minimal and the groove is endlessly deep, complemented by a buoyant and confident bass stride. On top, the ensemble of guitars are extremely efficient, in tones and in notes. The slightly hairy tones prove once again that you do not need full-blown distortion to sound dirty, and that light, crispy overdrive is the way to go on most occasions.

The riffs themselves sound easy and familiar, simultaneously fresh and exciting, making ‘Sweet Temptation’ lighthearted, and a breezy song to power through. With confident and restrained vocals that convey a blend that is more in the vein of Hendrix or Morrison than Tyler or Snyder, Daniel Lantz is surely balancing the sound of the song, giving it a slightly more old school vibe.

Tastefully balanced and lovingly executed, ‘Sweet Temptation’ is an endearing song that displays a band’s deep infatuation with the flamboyant rock of the 80s and having fun doing it. And as a direct result of said fun, Tush are bringing us a terrifically groovy cut that is worth a load of hype.
