It’s becoming rare seeing an artist just put himself out there, literally doing what he loves…

Usually, in the music business, all artists have to maintain a specific persona, or wear some kind of commercial mask-if you will…

…but when the stars align every couple of decades you may come across a very personal and raw take on the human experience…

I believe this is one of those opportunities where you can capture art in a very pure form…

Nikhail, growing up in California, USA, sharing his personal experiences, through a very personal take on a very specific and relatable feeling…the feeling of being there, being known, but feeling invisible…I believe many of us as humans have come across feeling the same at one point in our lives.

The journey Nikhail embarks on is not just a musical one, it’s a human experience kind of journey…

Getting to hear or see the art of an artist is just a portion of the experience, the other part would be getting to know the artist…and getting to know Nikhail is an important part of this experience.

Nikhail grew up in the USA then moved to Hong Kong to be present with his mother, while also having to battle health challenges…and there in Hong Kong was where he recorded “Too Famous For Words”.

Having the talent and ability to make movies was one of Nikhail’s strong points…but even though feeling the eyes on him, being known in the circles of filmmaking, he still felt invisible…and that is the feeling we’re experiencing here through his latest song.

We got to know Nikhail…and now we will get to know his art…

The song is “Too Famous For Words”…

It’s a fusion of some of the most iconic sounds…it has indie vibes, rock and synth…

On its own, each style of these is an ocean of emotions that could be explored…having all of them in one song, it looks like we’re in for an experience

…and it starts out with a distinct synth sound and chord progression…

The synth pattern continues through the song, being up there when it needs to…and takes a step to the back when it has to…

The electric guitar is there playing with the main vocal melody, adding more depth…and more musical engagement.

…before we get any further…we have to talk about the beat, the main driving force of the song…

The beat is very instinctive, it will get your head moving with it…

Moving into the chorus…electric guitar kicks in…a different synth emerges…it hooks you, only to let you go for the verse once again…I believe, one of the reasons for this variation is to keep you on your toes, waiting for it to come around again…and it works!

Near the last third of the song…we get to hear an awesome chord progression, with big anthemic synth riffs, going hand in hand with electric guitar rock power chords…

This whole part is where the music elevates…

For the whole song..the vocals are doing something special…they are vulnerable…they are raw and pure…it’s like having a friend over, sharing with you his thoughts, troubles, just talking the night away, connecting with you…it’s a very personal conversation, and this is how Nikhail is putting himself out there, being vulnerable as an artists…

You can catch some of Nikhail’s other works on spotify too, make sure to check him out.

This was an experience.
