Greek multi-instrumentalist and composer Dimosthenis Arnaoutakis proudly presents his new original album “Early Instrumental Works: The Psychic Experiences”, a captivating collection of guitar-driven instrumentals that blend Greek folk traditions with rich rock, blues, jazz, and cinematic influences.
The album’s lead single “Salamandra” marks the beginning of a trilogy of guitar-based instrumentals (alongside “Il Traditore” and “Jugador Blues”). Built on the traditional Greek Syrtos rhythm, the track features expressive electric guitar improvisations and a haunting reverb-drenched slide guitar melody that transports listeners into a psychedelic, atmospheric soundscape.
Drawing from a wide array of influences instrumental rock, spaghetti western soundtracks, blues, country, folk, and traditional Greek music (dimotiko and rebetiko) Arnaoutakis crafts a unique sonic journey. His work is deeply inspired by American musicians from the 1940s to 1970s as well as pioneering Greek-American artists who recorded in the US during the 1930s–1960s, such as Gus Vali, Iordanis Tsomidis, Tasos Halkias, and others.
Since stepping away from his previous label in 2026, Arnaoutakis has embraced full independence under his own name, shifting focus toward instrumental music while continuing the creative spirit he developed through his earlier one-man project Roswell 47.
“These early instrumental works represent a very personal and psychic exploration through sound,” says Dimosthenis. “They honor my Greek roots while allowing space for improvisation and emotional expression.”
