Polemica, the Italy-based band are planning to release a new album in September 2023 titled “and now”…with their signature alternative experimental approach, they are further solidifying their presence with this upcoming album, exploring uncharted territories…and boldly doing so.
“and now” doesn’t shy from the unusual and melodic eccentric sonic nature of avant-garde.
Polemica is the brainchild of Hilary Binder (vocals), Giulio Marino (bass/backing vocals), Vincenzo Vik Di Santo (drums/backing vocals), Zilvio (guitar/synth/backing vocals).
The album has a very wide spectrum of musical moods…but all are holding hands and are on the same journey of exploring new musical emotions.
You have a song like “paranoia”…other than the fact that it’s the first track and acts as an intro to this wild journey…it also has a lot of energy and power to its emotions…it has a fast beat and an energetic guitar…along with the very cinematic and stage-worthy vocals…everything clicks together and fits wonderfully in the most unusual of ways…
…then you have something completely different like “the vote”…a melodic and groovy song with a steady beat, nothing too fast or energetic, and nothing too chill…something in the middle…with a very groovy bass line, it’s actually taking a lot of the highlight on the song…the bass is doing wonders to this song…
“good riddance” is also another unique song, very moody, very charismatic…the vocals here steal the show…and once again, the vocals feel like they are taken straight out of a musical, or someone performing live with mountains of emotions…the vocals are very emotive and palpable.
Polemica also has a punk-geared experience within this album with “it’s our time”…it sounds like what you get when you say ‘futuristic punk energy’…that’s it.
“Isolation” is a very chill…maybe the most chill song on this album…and it comes at a place where you’ve already put out so much energy with the previous songs that you wish to have a little break and just chill…so even its placement in the album is masterfully chosen.
…and as a big wave at the end of the album, Polemica serenades us with “tranny me”…a very unusual ballad that catches you off guard and mesmerizes you and catches your soul…
We can’t get enough of Polemica and we can’t wait to see how the audiences will react to the album when it comes out soon in September…we can’t even wait for what’s next for Polemica…
Polemica’s “and now” is an album to experience.
Wishing Polemica all the best in the world, you people rock.
Cheers!
