FARMTIME is a five-track EP by Amanda Emblem, focusing on her evolving musical influences from 90’s rock to modern acoustic guitar pop. The EP features piano and flute, showcasing her diverse musical flavors…
Some tracks have an underlying tone that implies some underlying issues and uncertainty about the future.
Amanda Emblem has a 20-year recording career, releasing over 60 titles under various band names. After the dissolution of her last band, she decided to continue working with the title “The Amanda Emblem Experiment” in 2017.
Amanda started her career with Kaleidoscope, an indie pop rock band, and later mentored young Adelaide musicians. She has also worked for Ausmusic SA as a “Musician in Residence” for various secondary schools…so not only is Amanda sharing music with the music, she’s also sharing the creation of music too.
The EP has an overall acoustic mood but make no mistake, it’s not your typical acoustic EP…and it shows with the very diverse song moods and directions…you have the upbeat energetic mood with “Waterfall” while you have the sad and melancholic “Of Course I Do” with its powerful vocal performance and amazing guitars…
With a song like “Middle Of The Night”, Amanda goes for a 90s alternative rock
direction, cool, bluesy and with some powerful overdriven guitars…the song begs for a huge audience to sing along…
…going more into the bluesy side of music, Amanda hits us with the amazing “General Consensus”…this is where Amanda’s performance soars high above…absolutely mesmerizing.
..and The EP culminates with Aphrodisia, a track with multiple themes, including deer dancing and a hound dog attacking chickens…yes, it’s excellent music and a great fun time…with strong musical themes here, Amanda finishes the journey on a high note…
Amanda Emblem is an artist to follow and look out for, a force to be reckoned with…if you want excellent music, look no further, “Farmtime” is the EP you’ve been looking for.
Wishing all the best to the brilliant artist.
Cheers!
