Moscow-based band Hover Bird released their debut EP “Place I Want To Be” after 2 successful singles…and we’re in for a wild ride with this one.

Let’s first get to know the awesome people of Hover Bird…

Vlada on keys and vocals…also does songwriting, producing, graphic design, and mixing.

Evgenia on keys and vocals…also a songwriter, producer and sound engineer.

Man in the mask on electric guitar…also does composing.

Daniil on bass guitar…also responsible for the irony, gags and criticism…the heart of the party.

Egor on drums…also like Daniil…talk about the bassist and drummers locking in the groove…

…and of course, their manager Polina, making sure to push tracks to the public and through the right channels while making sure the band are getting the most out of their efforts…

As you can see, the way Hover Bird are going about their work is both serious and fun…and everyone has more than one job to contribute to the success of the whole band…this is something all bands can learn from, let’s take Hover Bird as an example to follow while distributing role and responsibilities, we’ll win better and more together.

“Place I Want To Be” is a 5 song EP that showcases Hover Bird’s musical potential…and it is a diverse musical experience, taking you from one place to another, from one mood to another…

The musical direction for the album is an alternative rock sound mixed with blues rock but with a more modern and edgier tone…spicy.

The album starts with “Sweet”…a slow burner heavy blues rock experience…

…and from there, Hover Bird takes us into a funkier direction with “Cold Breathing”…there’s a little guitar solo that shouldn’t be missed here…

As we were saying, the album takes you from one mood to another very smoothly…and the next song could be one of the best examples to do so…”Surprise” is…a surprise, really, it’s completely different form what came before it in the album and once again mixes things up with a bit of piano and electro bit of mood…

..and another surprise is the fact that all the piano you hear in the album is an actual grand piano recorded in the studio…sounding absolutely awesome.

“Surprise” even has some theatrical performance parts…very grand sounding and very different and unique…

“Turn Around”…changes things up once again and puts a piano-centric musical experience with some huge-sounding rock riffs…

“This is fine” is the fifth and last track in the EP…and is a very smooth-sounding dreamy experience, revolving around the piano and the vocals…and it sounds absolutely stunning.

We wish all the best to Hover Band, we can’t wait to hear what they come up with next…but we’ll be on the lookout.

Cheers!
