Patti Zlaket caps her remarkable 2025-2026 comeback with Dance Again, her first new album in two decades. Championed by Apple Music Zlaket’s March 2026 single “Love Is For You” was added to the streaming giant’s ‘New In Rock’ global playlist alongside new tracks by Foo Fighters, Joe Jackson, Peter Gabriel, Ringo Starr, and Alabama Shakes and on the heels of 2025’s three-part deluxe-edition reissue series of her remastered catalog by Meridian (ECR Music Group), the artist finds herself enjoying a remarkable and resurgent second chance. This pivotal moment greets Zlaket with a newfound audience thanks to three hit singles from the album in recent months, sold-out concert dates on tour, and glowing recognition in the press. Produced by Tariqh Akoni (Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Weezer) and featuring an A-list array of session musicians including the inimitable Lee Sklar (Phil Collins, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt), Dance Again highlights Zlaket’s unique artistry, character, and musicianship.
It was Sklar who lit the fire under Zlaket to make this new record, in fact. “One evening last year, I’d watched Immediate Family, the brilliant documentary about The Section Lee Sklar, Danny Kortchmar, Waddy Wachtel, and Russ Kunkel,” explains Zlaket. “It was like watching a story about the soundtrack of my life. A light was turned on in me, and I couldn’t stop thinking about the film and those players. And, my life in music. Though I was performing regularly, I’d taken a long break from recording. That night, I knew the break was over.”
Patti Zlaket did something that changed the course of her musical life she reached out to Sklar and commended him on the film, thanking him for the decades of music. Unexpectedly, he reached back. “When the door of opportunity opens, you walk through,” says Zlaket. “So, I decided to go for broke and asked him to listen to a new song I’d yet to record. I told him if he liked it, I’d love to record it with him.” He liked it. Thus began the year-long process of recording Dance Again with Zlaket working alongside Sklar, Akoni, and stellar session players from Zlaket’s past and present.
“This album, the whole experience of writing the songs and recording it, promoting it, and now releasing it, has been like returning home,” says Zlaket. “Working with such incredible players during the creative part of the process, and now, collaborating with a team of people at Meridian/ECR who are so supportive of me and my artistry makes me feel like I’ve already won. Everything that happens now is just icing on the musical cake. Simply put, Dance Again is my dream coming true.”
A pianist since she was seven and a songwriter since she was a teenager growing up in Tucson, Arizona, Zlaket graduated from USC with a BA in Theatre. She recorded her first album in Los Angeles and later moved to Nashville before returning to Southern California. Zlaket would go on to tour the United States and the U.K., establish herself as a premiere commercial jingle singer, release a storied catalog—and graduate from law school.
“There is no deadline on dreams,” Zlaket explains. “If you want something, go for it. It’s never too late to try, and you might be surprised by all of the gifts that come to you because you took that chance. I’m living proof.”
