SINGAPORE — Indian-American singer-songwriter, composer, and producer Seema Farswani steps into her boldest creative territory yet with “Born To Fly” — a cinematic soft-rock and global pop anthem built for girls and women everywhere, and brought to life through a remarkable cross-border collaboration between musicians from Singapore and Mumbai. Released September 16, 2026, it is a song about courage, possibility, hope, and the freedom to dream beyond the horizon.

“I wanted to create a world where East meets West — where the power of guitars could sit naturally alongside sitar and Indian vocals. At the heart of the song is a very simple message: every girl should have the courage and freedom to dream beyond the horizon.”

“Born To Fly” brings together two musical worlds that rarely share the same sonic space — and makes the combination feel not only natural but inevitable. Soaring guitars, expressive sitar, Hindi vocals, and layered contemporary voices move together within an expansive cinematic arrangement, Western rock energy and South Asian musical texture finding a common language in a track that is both deeply rooted and genuinely universal.

The song’s origins lie in something personal before they became something broader. “Born To Fly” began to take shape through The Voices Unseen, a charity concert held in Singapore in May in support of people with visual impairments and women’s empowerment. What emerged from that deeply personal starting point gradually expanded into a wider message — for girls and women everywhere — about finding their voice, believing in possibility, and having the courage to rise.

The cross-border production team behind “Born To Fly” brings together exceptional talent across two countries:

Seema Farswani — Lead vocals, lyrics, concept, composition, co-production

Rishabh Sharma — Mumbai-based guitarist, composer and producer active across Bollywood and the contemporary music landscape. Sharma’s co-production, arrangement, guitar work, and backing vocals give the track much of its rock-driven energy and scale.

Ananya Wadkar — Mumbai-based Neo-Classical vocalist and sitar artist whose expressive sitar and soaring Hindi vocals bring a distinctly Indian dimension to the recording.

Shania Tan — Singapore-based classically trained vocalist contributing additional vocal textures.

Brandon Leo — Mastering.

“Born To Fly” marks another step forward in Seema Farswani’s increasingly genre-fluid and geographically expansive catalogue — a body of work that has consistently refused to be contained by a single sound, language, or cultural frame.

Her debut EP Got My Mojo (May 2024) introduced her as an artist who transcends geography and language, with songs in English, Spanish, Arabic, French, and Algerian Rai, earning acclaim from Muse Chronicle, Pophits.co, and Indie Dock. Subsequent releases have moved across blues, jazz, synth-pop, electro-pop, acoustic fusion, and cinematic rock — including Got My Mojo featuring Dem-C (London), Under a Blazing Sun (a pop-rock anthem infused with Arabian rhythms celebrating her Dubai childhood), Sketches on the Walls (a bold celebration of artistic identity), Season of Gratitude, and Runways and its Afro House remix.

A Berklee Aspire scholarship recipient and 2025 ICMA Best Vocalist finalist, Farswani has built an international independent footprint through radio, press, live performance, and cross-border collaboration. Raised in the Middle East, having lived in the United States, and now based in Singapore, her multicultural background shapes every creative decision — from the languages she sings in to the musicians she builds worlds with.

Her creative foundation in fine arts and spatial design runs through everything she makes, bringing a visual storyteller’s instinct to music that is, at its best, genuinely cinematic.
