Halloween music usually knows exactly where it wants to take you: somewhere dark, eerie, and preferably haunted. Suzy’s Field’s “Where Do You Go?” takes a slightly different route — swapping the expected shadows for a distinctly funky groove. Released on 31 October 2026, the Cork trio’s latest single turns 70s-inspired funk, smooth harmonies, and rhythmic guitar into what they call “throwback spooky funk.”

And the description fits. Rather than leaning heavily into the darker side of Halloween, “Where Do You Go?” feels more like a late-night dance floor dressed for the occasion. Its groove-led guitar and polished vocal harmonies bring a warmth to the track, while the seasonal concept adds just enough mystery around the edges.

The influences are clear but not overwhelming. Drawing from Michael McDonald’s smooth vocal style and Nile Rodgers’ rhythmic guitar work, the track borrows from the vocabulary of 70s funk without sounding like an exercise in pure retro revival. There’s a contemporary clarity to the production that keeps the song grounded in the present.

That balance feels especially natural for Suzy’s Field, whose six O’Keeffe brothers have been making music together since the early 2000s. More than two decades of playing together have clearly shaped their musical chemistry, and it comes through in the way the instrumental and vocal elements lock into one another.

The track was recorded during a residential session at Migration Studios in Gloucestershire in February 2026, where the brothers worked on six songs together before completing additional overdubs and mixing from their home studios.

There’s no need for cobwebs and creaking doors here. Suzy’s Field’s “Where Do You Go?” finds its Halloween atmosphere in the shadows around the groove: warm, nostalgic, slightly mysterious, and very much alive!
