The Quarter are an Egyptian Hard Rock band founded in Cairo. They’re currently working on their first full length. Recently, they released two tracks ‘Fall Back’ and ‘The Decade Crawler’, that will be included on the upcoming full-album. The genre, hometown, influences and amazing artwork made me excited about getting to know the band’s music.
I was hesitant in forming a conclusive opinion when listening to the two tracks. The instrumental work is pretty good and so are the vocals. However, overall, they weren’t perfect if close, it seems like something went wrong in production. The instrumentals would sound really good alone, especially in the second track ‘The Decade Crawler’, the vocals are strong and the vocalist is able technically, he kind of reminds me of Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother. Although the production was a flaw to me, I can’t say I didn’t enjoy listening to the two tracks. I can see originality and great potential with some improvements in the mixing process.
