The Takeover NYC band has dropped a new single called “The Uncle” and they didn’t disappoint. The band has been going strong since 2018. If you are not already familiar with them, they are a five-member group from New York City, Mark Fischer on Lead Guitar, Alex Black on Bass Guitar, Mitch Etchason on Rhythm Guitar, and Dylan Hemingway, the main vocalist.

Emerging from the city that birthed rock legends like The Strokes,The Velvet Underground, and The Talking Heads. The Takeover are following in the footsteps of the greats.

They are unapologetically themselves and it is very clear when you listen to their music. The band was formed to create good music and so far they succeeded in creating not just good but great tracks.

“The Uncle” is another great song, which starts strong and keeps going, the beat gradually escalates and I felt as if the song was charging. The song reached a climax point with the solo guitar riff during the bridge. The song is emotionally charged, energizing, and electrifying. It is exactly what I expect from the Takeover.

After 5 years of making music, touring, and performing. They are on their way to perfecting the craft of creating memorable rock hits. They create sincere, authentic art and raw rock energy, a long-lost art these days with mainstream tracks creating songs catered for a 30-second TikTok video or an Instagram reel.

This track is simply on another level, like most of their music, it is meant to be enjoyed, experienced, and felt whether listening to the track or attending one of their performance, their music would make you feel something.

Check “The Uncle” now and if you want to see Takeover perform live you can easily check their live show dates here.
