From the depths of Geelong, Victoria comes James Guida, known under his alias LAGUNA — a multi-talented musician and producer. But not only this — he’s also the sole core of an entire world of his own.

Going entirely independent, he didn’t just make music — LAGUNA launched his own label called Mountain Girl Records.

As described on the official Mountain Girl Records Bandcamp page:

“Laguna’s 8-track debut marked the official launch of Mountain Girl Records, and James’s DIY spirit is all over it. The album, self-mastered and loaded, came out on a limited run of cassettes, each one packed with a personal touch. Inside, listeners found hand-pressed stickers, an in-house designed fold-out zine and a bookmark — keeping the experience deeply tangible.”

He blends emotions with music, pulling listeners deep into his world — making his art feel alive, transforming rebellion and isolation into sound.

With his fully self-made music and label, you can indulge yourself in the beauty of it.

In an interview with the Australian music magazine The Partae, James Guida was described as “a one-man production house of fuzz, fury, and an iridescent flair for the strange beauty of obsolete media. Laguna returns this July with ‘Sweetlips’.”

Sweetlips, LAGUNA‘s new upcoming single released under his own label, is set to drop on the 14th of July this year.

Inspired by the golden era of rock, Sweetlips merges the melodic brilliance of Thin Lizzy with the heavy power of Black Sabbath.

Sweetlips is more than just a track — it’s a self-built, immersive experience designed to shake up your world.

If you’re longing for something authentically loud, echoing with the harmony of the past, this is it.

Dive into LAGUNA’s universe — and live it like it was made for you.
